Why are you including Favors?

We could make a run at the 10th pick with just Hood. No reason to add Favors to the deal. If anything, we're adding a 1st round pick and calling it good.

If we're adding Favors, we better be getting both 6 and 10.

Because they are adding Skal. And GobertReport knows how to get a yes out of me for a Favors trade. He goes straight for my heart...

Skal!

Are people really this high on Skal still? From what I saw, he really didn't do all that much for the Kings this past season. Am I missing something with him?

You are missing. He was quite possibly the best rookie in the last month or so of the season. After they got rid off Cousins.

Interesting.

To be honest, I paid zero attention to anything the Kings did after they traded Cousins. I'll have to watch out for him this next season.

Skal is the guy that we need, he's the stretch 4 we are missing, I would give up a bit more for Skal and 10 for Favors, Hood, and even a pick.

Let me introduce you to the best player from last year's draft:

No way. I don't care how great Skal looked to end the season last year, he's not worth that much. Not even close.

I would trade Favors for Skal in a second. Unfortunately the kings wouldn't.

I liked Skal for the Jazz last year at #12. I was afraid he'd get picked at 10 or 11. Then he fell to what -- like 28?

I'm still sad we didn't trade into the draft for Skal

You sir, are crazy.

You really believe that Skal is going to become a top 30 player in the NBA?

Favors is gone in a year, and if Hayward is gone there's no point in having him for that year. I'd set the bar very low for a Favors deal.

How much are you willing to bet on it?

For the record, this is a terrible way to look at the situation with Favors. You don't just give him away for nothing because you think he's gone at the end of the year. That's not how things work in the NBA.

I'm talking $$$$

I want as much money from you on this bet as possible, because I'm feeling pretty good about my chances.

I kid... I dunno... it's a pretty long term bet and I don't trust the Kings to develop players. If I'm here in 10 years lets do a 1 year signature or avatar bet. Also what would be the criteria?

Also, I don't think he needs to be top 30 to justify the trade. For example 7 years of control, 3 of which at about 1-2M(right when we need it)... if he reaches top 50-100 level, will be worth it IMO.

Intriguing....

As for criteria, that's tough. Like you said, how do you balance the value of years of contractual control vs. talent? Is 7 years of a top 100ish player more valuable than 1 year of a top 30 talent? That in of itself is an interesting debate.
