Crowder needs to watch videos of Andre Iguodala and realize how important it is to be an elite bench piece. Iggy won that game 5 fr those guys last night, period. At the end of the day he would still play more minutes than whatever starting C we would have and he would always finish the game as a small ball 4. If he buys in he could be a major weapon for us. But I don't ever see him or Avery accepting this and I think eventually Marcus also leaves to try his luck as a starter somewhere.

If we assume IT/Fultz/other guards plus Hayward/Brown, then Crowder would have to play almost exclusively at the 4, and even as a smallball 4 he might have to compete with the Hayward/Brown duo for minutes.

Yeah..IT/Fultz/Smart/Brown/Crowder/Hayward seems like a bit much. Add Rozier who people seem to keep throwing away for cap relief, but I seriously believe Ainge values the guy and isn't going to get rid of him just because.. and it's even more. I'm still fully on keeping IT, Brown, adding Hayward and Fultz and turning some of the others into a Butler/George or a young big.

Guards are the ones who have a logjam. Of the names mentioned, Crowder is the only one who can hold both forward positions. I've seen Utah use Hayward as a PF but it's more the two Joes than him doing that. Brown has also done it in a pinch with Stevens ultra smallball lineups (Crowder at the 5 in some of these). In today's NBA, having multiple guys who have positional versatility is a need more than a luxury. Add to the fact that Celtics salary will balloon after next season, Jae and his contract becomes even more valuable. LOL Fultz's salary will be higher than Jae's next season. If he's a piece being asked for in a trade for a star, I'll pack his bags. He should blame his agent, not Danny, Brad, or the team, for the crappy contract he signed. And honestly, all I've heard from him so far is how he's blessed to do the thing he loves doing.

Nice little Woj Bomb. Slight faves for Hayward and most likely teams Blake would leave LA for.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this but besides Isiah Thomas following Hayward on Instagram Isiah Thomas wife also followed Gordon Haywards wife on Instagram. I thought that was more of a tell than IT following hayward. I think it's a done deal

I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually IT who just used his phone's wife for a second and followed Hayward's wife. He's a troll like that.

In any case, I think Gordon's gone and we're the favorites to land him. 65% Boston, 30% Utah, 5% Others.

Oh I know I remember last trade deadline and you might be right..it's that time of year to read into everything more than we should but I feel pretty good about him coming here. That report that stated Miami and him had mutual interest ended up being bs. It took a reporters words out of context. It was just a Miami beat reporter just speculating.
Another reporter took his words and ran with it

Is there any possible way danny could form a superteam with griffin and haywarf?

I just don't see a way. They're both free agents and we have space for one but we wouldn't be able to execute a sign a trade for the other one because that would hard cap us.

Edit cap*

Sad.

Griffin should go to Miami.

Hayward to Boston

Griffin and Whiteside would be dangerous. Whiteside is so much better than Deandre in my personal opinion.

The relevant quote:

“I do hear, this isn’t coming from Hayward’s camp so it’s under the gossip category and not the necessarily reporting category, but I do hear that Hayward has significant concerns about playing with Isaiah Thomas. In other words he wants the ball in his hands, he doesn’t just want to watch Isaiah dribble around and do his thing.”

Same. Both guys can be effective playing either onball or offball.
I'm just sharing what rumors are out there. Up to you guys whether to believe them or not.

I doubt he said this but if hypothetically this was his attitude I'm not sure I'd want him here. We're trying to win championships but now he's worried about who's going to have the ball more? Ridiculous. And besides Isiah Thomas doesn't just dribble around that much. He does get the ball alot though this season because he's our best offensive player. If Hayward comes I would be shocked if IT played the same way he did this season with another shooter around.

He says right in the quote that it's gossip. Sometimes there's smoke there. I find it intriguing that it is a rumor going around NBA writer circles at least. Would make it easier to trade IT as grabbing Hayward was one of my main arguments in favor of keeping IT.

I mean what is the likelihood that Hayward doesn't trust Stevens to make it work (even though the idea of them both not being able to have the ball in their hand plenty is asinine in it self)?
