He was defended well but also his jumpshot disappeared after G3. In the last 4 games he shot 22% on pull-ups (and most of these were pretty open shots the defencse was willing give him). Against Atlanta that figure was 43.4%.

Re: Where Are We On John Wall?
How much of his legs going at the end can be attributed to fatigue from overcoming a subpar bench? He's certainly the closest thing to a mini Lebron in the leagu, with an actual shot at MVP if he improves his shot. But his jumper is more suspect than Lebron's was at the same age.
Gotta say tho, while he doesn't have quite the same zip on his passes that Lebron and Harden do, his ability to create corner 3s exceeds theirs in my mind. The way he hunts for those open shots for his teammates is really mesmerizing. And on the break there's so many times I watch him knowing that the pass is coming, and knowing the the defense knows the pass is coming, but he still manages to thread that ball through with the perfect English once the defense shifts their weight to the wrong foot and I literally yell out loud "How!?"
He'll never have the step back that his backcourt mate has but this summer he'll have his first opportunity to actually train instead of rehabbing. I expect his pull up jumper to be honed coming into next season

LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

I see a trend, then when someone doesn't play well, then fatigue (or even injury) excuse is being used. First Harden, now Wall, I guess Thomas will be next, and then Curry ;]

Seems to me the trend is slowly catching up to the truth. The Heat to this day suspect Lebron's 2011 Finals performance had more to do with dead legs from being rode so hard through the previous 2 rounds while playing at his highest playing weight. Not everything is players "choking" despite what the hot take media wants you to believe.

I'm going to say Beal is the best Wizard. Wall makes a lot of playes but he is more inefficient and turnover prone and has less floor spacing. Beal is 2nd in RPM for SGs (Wall is 11th for PGs) and leads Wall in WS/48, on/off and would in BPM if not for a dubious DBPM difference (He is ahead in OBPM).
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

He was defended quite well in the Boston series, I think most point guards wouldn't have great numbers in his position either

He was defended well by Boston guards, but to struggle so badly in the halfcourt against a team with no rim protection is glaring.

Hes an extremely good player but I dont think you can really go anywhere with him as your #1 option. The Wizards desperately need to get a Butler/George type to run with him.

RAPM is available on APBR board: http://apbr.org/metrics/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9167&sid=b26abba12adb4ee0e669f0a3ceb90294
and Wall doesn't look as top tier player.
playoffs -0,44 (ranks 143 among 215 players)
regular +1,27 (96/486)
PO+RS +0,78 (134/486)
No off/def splits, but probably his defense is overrated (as I noted before - he has some highlight individual defensive plays, but as team defender he is weak) and because he isn't very efficient scorer and has inconsistent shot, then his offensive game also isn't as good as top point guards in the NBA.
