How low will you go? What's you bottom line in a trade?

Buyout for $25 million.

Doubtful he takes a dime less than what he's due over the next two years. Melo isnt going to do anything that helps the Knicks.

Actually I'm thinking the opposite. West isn't going to want his star players leaving just as he starts his job. So I think it improves the chances of Paul and Griffin stating and trying to bring Melo in a trade.

Hopefully. But I just can't see him giving up future picks. Had more faith that we could have pulled one over on them before West.

Not terrible you get Sabonis and another young player but Oladipo is terrible.

Yeah it's not great but I don't expect a great return, especially with PJax orchestrating the deal.

Oladipo is at least only 25 so you're overpaying him through his prime. That in itself would be a big win.

that will never happen so there's nothing to be worried about

Melo and #8 for Love is just fear mongering to get Knicks fans riled up

Also remember Windy is a gigantic CLE homer who also has made it a point to bash Melo even when the Knicks were good

This situation is lowkey just as important as hitting the draft pick.

He's a hack, that's just plain stupid. He only has a job cause he holds Lebron's pocket 24/7.

If you can swing a deal with great assets coming our way, multiple picks and a young talent, sure. If not, you let it play out.. stop undervaluing Melo at the 4..he played 74 games too..

Zero percent chance Melo at this stage if his career gets you even one pick, let alone multiple picks. Maybe a late first rounder, that's it.

Undervaluing Melo? I think you're overvaluing him. This isn't prime Melo anymore.

people want to get lottery picks for kyle o quinn, iirc you was one of them. oquin is a bum of the highest order... you guys are full of bs. sure its not prime melo, but your agendas become clear as day. if you really think kyle or baker or holiday could net us a lottery pick but melo aint worth ****.

if he wouldnt have the NTC teams would run in our doors and try to snatch him. phil destroyed his value via twitter

No, I don't think O'Quinn or Holiday are worth lottery picks and writing factual statements isn't having an agenda.

Read the sticky thread about trying to bait arguments or else don't bother replying to me anymore.

If Melo goes to LAC, I would imagine it would happen fairly quickly heading into free agency.

If its late July/early August and Melo is still on the team, a move to the Cavs for Love is more likely, imo of course. Wouldnt stun me if Melo is still a Knick once the season starts. Opts out of his contract next season and easier to pair up with LeBron in LA if the rumors are true.

I hope the Knicks can unload him. They ought to go full rebuild mode.

And from Carmelo's POV, why stay? His prime is ending, and he doesn't have a ring; heck, he doesn't have a Finals appearance. He's not going to get either one with NYK, so he might as well go to Cleveland, LA, or OKC (or somewhere).

Hindsight 20-20, you kind of wish that they didn't resign him a few years ago.

KOQ + Melo for Love in a 3-way. We send Love to Indy, Boston, Detroit or Utah. Whichever team ponies up the most.

You called him small. He's 6'9'' which is the same as Wallace. Thompson is average because of his skill level, not because of his size.

Kinda? No, I wish they didn't.

If this was the fuqing plan, Phil was supposed to be upfront and tell Melo he was going to tear down the team. Not, tell him he was going to bring and build a winning culture(aka winning). We were supposed to let Melo go and then bum it up without stars for the next few years. We delayed this ****.

this reminds of me the people who **** on smith because of his small height and wingspan. Just dumb

How about this trade between the Cavs, Knicks and Nuggets.

CAVS trade: Kevin Love, Richard Jefferson, Iman Shumpert, 1st round
CAVS receive: Courtney Lee, Melo, Kyle O'Qquinn and Wilson Chandler

Knicks Trade: Melo, Courntey Lee, Kyle O'Quinn, Kuz
Knicks Receive: Juancho Hermangomez, Gary Harris, Kenneth Faried, Channging Frye, First round pick from the Cavs, Possible 13th overall pick from the Nuggets(?)

Nuggets trade: Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried, Gary Harris, Juancho
Nuggets receive: Kevin Love, Shumpert, Jefferson, Kuz

Why for the Cavs? The Cavs receive Melo, who will make LeBron happy and provides an additional ball handler who can create shots for himself and for others. Lee, Chandler and O'Quinn gives the Cavs depth which they lacked in this finals. Can you imagine a lineup where you have a more consistent 2guard in Lee who provides shooting and plays defense, it also allows the Cavs to push JR on the bench. Wilson Chandler is better than RJ and he can play defense and score.

Why for the Knicks? The Knicks get two quality young players in Juancho and Gary Harris. Gary Harris is a two guard that can shoot and play some defense. Juancho is a stretch 4 that can rebound and fits with Porzingis. The Knicks take on the salary of Faried and Frye, but those players can be filled to other teams. Frye alone will most likely be coveted by a team like the Clippers, the Wizards, Thunder(who needs shooting), and possibly Philly(who needs lots of shooting and to meet the salary floor, maybe for one of their 2nd round picks).

Why for the Nuggets? They get Kevin Love. AND Yes Kevin Love and Jokic would be a terrible fit DEFENSIVELY but their fit Offensively would be insane. They know they're not going to win the championship anytime soon but they want to make the playoffs which I believe Kevin Love will help them to do. Offensively they'll be really exciting and that will great a buzz around. They get a 2guard that can defend and replace the lost of Gary Harris. Kuz is a cheap bench piece to replace some of the depth they lost. They will also have enough money to resign Gallo and possibly get a PG.

No, I don't. Why? He's listed as 6'9''.
Thompson isn't being compared as a player. His size is being compared. That's it. Nothing more or less.
