There's just such a crispness to NBA players. Every movement has purpose, every move has a counter available...it's really amazing to watch.

I really wish the Raptors would just go all in and choose who they want their #2 PG to be for the future. It was Joseph in 2015-2016, then he sort of lost his spot to FVV for like 3 games, Delon at times passed Joseph, etc.

And this is why I find threads like the "Do you think you could beat Darrick Murray in a 1v1" from years ago ridiculous. Scrubs and benchwarmers look really bad on TV, but the worst player in the NBA still had to dominate at a previous level to get into the league. It's amazing how good these guys actually are.

Yeah, not enough people realize the talent level required just to be in the NBA, let alone be a rotation player or a star. Hard work is important and all, but that elite speed and reflex is something almost impossible to acquire just through practice alone.

How do you guys think FVV would fare against a realgm'er with a Giannis like wingspan? Let me know.

Clearly he's been practicing and learning from Lowry. His moves and his use of his body are damn near identical.

I just had a long argument with a friend who claims he can score one bucket against Muggsy Bogues in a 1v1 game up to 21. This guy is 5'8", with very average strength/athleticism, has only ever played pickup ball with other guys his size and athleticism, and has never even dominated his pickup games.
I told him he's absolutely out of his mind, but he's somehow convinced that he can do it.

The difference in quality each level up in basketball is remarkable. It's hard for many to see when looking at lesser levels competing against each other. You'll see a guy who seems good but in reality he's just good on that level and perhaps caught between that and the next level up. I remember Scalabrine did one of these and just torched guys even though he was old and facing young legs who viewed him as a total scrub. To make it to the NBA most players were the best player on their team somewhere at a relatively high level before accepting a lesser role to play in the league.
