Turner is easily the closest.....defense, rebounding, uncommon shooting stroke on light volume, raw offensive game, and super awful passing + creation metrics.

Essentially, better length than Zeller but not quite the mobility. And better mobility than Turner but not quite the length.

He's kinda like a prime Amir Johnson to me.

That is a really good comp, and a player that would be a big help in our rotation.

Wouldn't selecting him be redundant with the selection of Kaminsky ?

I think they are pretty different players, but if they were the same that wouldn't really be a reason not to do it. Bigs that can pass, shoot, create off the dribble, and play fundamentally sound D don't exactly grow on trees or pose fit problems.

I'd say fairly opposite strengths and weaknesses. Collins is a raw athlete who's value should be as a rim running, PnR defensive 4/5 who spaces as a stationary 3P shooter.

The major concerns are ball skills and comfort in space.

Guess I don't know Frank, those are the skills I thought you were drafting with him last year

That was what he said. Having two guys who can do those things won't be bad. Problem is Frank is very slow footed and likely better suited for a C long term where as Collins is a better athlete and likely has more positional flexibility on defense to play both C and PF effectively.

Time to ramp up our discussion on Zach Collins.

Is he...
1) The Wildcard of the draft, the guy who slides into the top 10 and pushes someone else into our draft range?
2) The guy we pass on, then spend years watching closely hoping he doesn't make us look foolish?
3) Or the guy we select, that probably gets a tepid reaction from the casual fans?

I think (3). Wherever he goes he's not playing next season, needs to develop and get a lot stronger.
