GSP wrote:I want to see him operating in the high/midpost more next season. They always got wide open looks or he scored/drew foul in those situations. Mccaw, Draymond and West missed alot bunnies early on Kd got them. Okc failed to use him there consistently but hes far better creating for others from there as opposed to the perimeter where his handle can still be taken advantage of and his court vision isnt as good, dude has some laser passes from the post. He had that great 2 man game with Ibaka in 14 many from the post. Plus with Steph, Draymond and Iggy they dont need other perimeter creators, Kds by far their best post player and they need to use that more next season

Defensively hopefully he continues to improve. Hes only been performing in this defensive role since the Spurs series hes still new to it. Consistency is the biggest issue but his defensive versatility theoretically could be at an alltime level if he continues to improve

Glad i'm not the only one who knew this.

The Post and Pindowns are the best ways to use KD.

538 Article on his shooting for the 2016 season:

Image

"OK then. Curry’s outlandish outlier-ness from 3-point range is well-documented. That Durant has been nearly as much of an outlier from inside the arc is not as well-known. Curry at least has a few players pushing him on the efficiency front (albeit over far fewer shots); Durant is pretty much all alone."

Teams started face guarding him because of this which allowed this to happen all season:

He's been one of the best post scorers and passers in the league over the past 2 seasons, Kerr needs to take advantage of this.

I feel that he deserves credit for being such an easy superstar to play with and for not messing with what made GSW special in the first place. That should matter when evaluating how great a player is. As a star/superstar, being easy to play with will lead to a better team ball which makes the ceiling of a team as high as possible. Kevin raised the ceiling as high as possible for GSW. He is one of the best ceiling raisers ever for me. His ability to be so lethal without dominating the ball made GSW so dominat and play at their optimal level. We have seen how hard it was for Miami to get full production from Wade and Bosh when LBJ was there. LBJ's style is way more ball dominate than Durant's after all. I think Durant's style gives those around him much more freedom to do their thing. Steph is still his superstar self and as dominant as ever despite having to play with Kevin at the same time. Klay still Klay and same with Dray. All these guys deserve credit for being easy to play with.

The only player i could think of to go to a team with that many option and not **** up what they were doing is Duncan. That is something i will give to Durant you can port him to what ever team and he will fit there with out taking away. I mean and people saying they did not need Durant to win well i beg to differ with out him they do not win crucial games. Besides Curry who else on the warriors is consistent high scoring playing in the ps Thompson is closest thing and he most up and down guy ever.

I cringe at people using +/- out of context and on a game-by-game basis.

Before anyone tries to bring up wide open looks. Golden State shot 56.06 TS% excluding Durant, Durant was at 69.80%, +13.74% over expected

Proportionally, Durant actually got the fewest open or wide open looks of any player in the Finals by a considerable margin. Only 27.8% of Durant's shot attempts were considered open(no defender within 4 feet). Other notables include 38.7% Kyrie, 49.6% LeBron, 48.3% Curry, 55.7% Thompson, 47.8% Love, and 52.8% Green

He also got less total open looks per game(6.0 of 21.6 FGA) than Kyrie(9.4 of 24.6), LeBron(11.6 of 23.4), Curry(8.8 of 18.2), Thompson(7.8 of 14.0 FGA), Love(6.4 of 13.4 FGA) and only slightly more than Green(5.8 of 11.0 FGA).

He was actually contested on 15.6 of his 21.6 FGA/game, he just shot an outrageous 66.9 eFG% on contested shots including 59.1% on contested 3's, which made up 73% of his 3's in the Finals.. He shot 52.9 eFG% with a defender 0-2 feet away(super tight) and 69.8 eFG% with a defender 2-4 feet away(tight).

Woah that's informative so i guess he wasn't just making "wide open" shots all series. I swear haters will say anything

Anything to discredit him. His scoring has always been seen as "effortless", so when ppl saw him scoring all those points they gave full credit to his team.

Everything he does from now on will be discredited and downplayed, this is how it's going to be for the rest of his career I guess.
