Sam Amico says its pretty close to happening and Celts are going "all in"...

Now "all in" to me means they are going after Hayward AND trading for Jimmy Butler. That probably means the #3 pick would go to Chicago...who would the Bulls take at #3?? I don't think Jackson as being that rebuild talent...maybe Fox?

So many scenarios.

Also, if you want a good SF, why not just use that pick to trade for PG or Butler, proven stars, over the dude who shot in the 50s with FTs since high school?

They wouldn't trade down if they wanted Jackson. LA is rumored to be really high on him. That's risky. They have to be high on someone else, and guards don't make complete sense for them as many as they have.

My thoughts exactly. This leads me to believe they take Isaac. Meaning either Jackson or Ball who fall to us. I'd be perfectly fine with that

Celtics going for future whilst going for the ECF next season as well... Nice.

They sign Hayward or Griffin... Drafts Jackson... They will be highly competitive whilst keeping Thomas as their main scorer and a good defensive rotation of Smart, Bradley and Crowder.

Hope this happens... It will be more interesting than most NBA 2K trades if it does.

If I was Boston, I'd rather trade with Philly for #3 and future first rounder/s. 6'ers are still a long way away.

I'm not sure how long if they have Fultz, Embiid and Simmons all healthy. When Embiid was playing they played pretty well even without Simmons and the other centers and guards like TJ McConnell and Sergio Rodgriguez.

I hope Boston lands Blake Griffin just to simply keep him away from Miami. IMO he actually makes more sense than Hayward for a roster fit standpoint. I also don't buy that Hayward is going to leave Utah.

Trade up to get Fultz or bust.

If we trade up to #2 thinking Boston will take Jackson and Philly trades up to #1 and snags Fultz, then we just blew our load for nothing. :banghead:

LOL

Trade 1:
#3 for #1 swap with Philly - Boston gets the 2018 LAL unprotected

Trade 2:
#5 for #3 swap with Sacramento - Boston gets #5 and #10

So they essentially turn #1 into #5 + #10 + a future #1 from LAL

Stupid of them though. Fultz is going to be the real deal.

It sucks we didn't get #1

A Fultz/Booker backcourt would have been nasty. SPLASH & SLASH.

According to the source, Smith has already landed in Boston and is scheduled to work out in front of the team Saturday. He has also auditioned for the Los Angeles Lakers, who own the No. 2 pick, the Orlando Magic, slated to draft sixth, and held a pro day attended by several other teams in the lottery

I hope the Suns get Dennis Smith in for a workout. If they were comfortable with his health and attitude he might be the 2nd best prospect in the draft. But IMO he's also the riskiest of all the top 8 guys.

So if they are working out Smith, then they really may trade down again. Smith makes more sense in Boston than Fox, since they have Smart and Bradley. Thomas might command too much money after this year. It would be tough to let him go though. I can't imagine they'd take Smith at 3 though.

Suns should say they are really interested in Fox so perhaps Sacramento does trade up for him. Though I wonder if they'd take him over Jackson, since Gay is leaving. I guess the assumption all along up until the last few days though was that Jackson would go 3rd and they might trade up for Fox so we could be deciding between Jackson and Isaac. I wonder if we made a promise to Isaac. Bad to burn agent relationships. That would be absolutely crazy if Jackson and Isaac were there and we took Isaac and then Boston STILL got Jackson at 5.
