Personally I'm fine with swapping 2017 picks in addition of trading either the future Sacramento or Los Angeles pick. Anything more will make me anxious, but I like Fultz and think he's just the type of player this team needs.

I'd love to hear Hinkie's thought on this deal.

Absolutely, I think both sides are afraid of what the final deal will be and I'm in this group. Boston fans don't want to move down unless they get a Nets type of fleecing. 76ers fans are happy to grab Fultz but fear giving up both the LAL and SAC picks. Until the final deal is announced, I'll be nervous. BC doesn't have my trust yet.

to fear both? this offer is god damn awful if ONE of them is included. im fine with phi18, because we will make the playoffs, but nothing more. bc is such a moron...it could be true its the lakers unprotected... :banghead:

I think if you love Fultz, the #3 and the Lakers pick is a very fair deal for both sides. Would I like that pick to be protected in some way or be the worst of the Lakers and 76ers picks? Sure, but I also know you have to give to get and I don't see Boston doing it that way. Now if you don't love Fultz, then nearly any possible trade will be hated.

BC has a decent eye for talent. But I know he's going to spend our assets inefficiently. Mixed feelings. Fultz fits like a glove. Just don't like an overpay, and to the wrong team.

I'd be fine with giving up the Lakers pick at this point. Would be a major L to have the Lakers improve and give us a late lottery pick IMO. Might as well cash in on it now.

have a feeling whatever the final deal is, is probably going to sting worse than whats being reported.

no way we're just giving up the 2018 Lakers pick.

Just keep telling yourself you are adding only MCW to #3.

we've been literally waiting for the Lakers pick for 3 seasons now and getting screwed every time.

with our luck, we'd hold onto it and the Lakers will go 39-43 and have the 12th pick next year.

i'm cool giving that pick up for the potential of Fultz. and i don't even like Fultz that much

To me this is a make of break move by BC. I try to only judge him on the job he's done for us and nothing else. This is risky as hell.

He may not have to. Celtics already have a ball-dominant PG in IT and they sure don't need another. So everyone knows they either trade IT or draft someone else who's NOT a PG at #1. The way this draft's set up, they are better off getting an additional pick for that #1 spot and get say a Jackson. BC needs to be disciplined here. Perhaps #3 pick and a high 2nd rounder is fair here.

Now most think this is bad, but if it finally happens, most people will start telling us how great Fultz is and how good this deal was, the bias always shows.

How would it be a major L? As HW said it only cost MCW. It's potentially on par with the Louisiana Purchase.

Or, close to it.

I don't think his talent is deniable. He'll likely be a very good to greaet offensive player in the league. His defense is pretty nightmarish in my opinion. I'm currently watching UW vs WSU and he's constantly out of position in a 2-3 zone. I don't know how that's even possible.

Analyzing the initial reports, the most logical rationale is that Ainge does not really want any top rookie because they want to make their run in the next two years. Ainge would then be saying that none of the rookies can get the Celtics there that quick.

If he thinks the 76ers like Fultz, which would be quite a reasonable view, the 76ers abundance of current and future potentially high picks would be his goal. Ainge would then try to swap these pick (s) for the kind of veteran he appears to covet. Complicated.

If the 76ers stand pat, Fultz could fall to third, but it is not likely. Even if the Celtics pick Jackson, let's say, the Lakers still have the opportunity to select Fultz, if Magic likes him better than Ball or Fox, for instance. So the 76ers would be out on Fultz in that scenario.

So if the 76ers want to be proactive on Fultz, they have to pay. It is not a question of what is fair, which is being debated on this forum, it is a question how much the 76ers are willing to give versus how little Ainge is willing to take. They are not equal partners in the trade but the 76ers have picks to dangle. So does Boston want the assets more, or do the 76ers want Fultz more?

Should be interesting.

Celtics also wanna save a little bit of cash to lure a big time free agent.

This is how I'm reading the situation. Ainge is most likely already leaning Jackson. Whether for fit as you said or if he just values him more in a vacuum. BC would then only have to add a little something to tip the scale. Hopefully he can stay disciplined.

Would be even sweeter if we can add Avery Bradley to the deal.....give up the 3rd pick plus two 1st rd picks and Okafor

Screw it - I'm in. Let's roll into 2017-2018 with Biid, Simmons, Saric, Cov, and Fultz as our starting 5. Pretty solid core.

I just think it's super interesting that the top 3 teams picking in this years draft have picks included in this deal. Lol wow.
