This is a no brainer. Fultz is a smoother version of Westbrook but with a 6'10 wingspan. Celtics cancelled their meeting with Fultz for tomorrow and Sixers are meeting him instead tomorrow. Once they get a look they do the deal and the Sixers will be the next EC champs after the Lebron era.

This I could get behind. But if we trade more than 1 additional asset, I'm going to be very upset.

Yea I'm fine with giving up the Lakers or Sac pick. But definitely nothing more than that.

I'll say this, the lineup of

Fultz
TLC
Covington
Simmons
Embiid

is a bit spooky for other teams. Towards the end of the season, TLC became a decent shooter and has always been pretty damn good at cutting towards the basket. If he or Covington can defend the other teams best perimeter scorer, then that would be my starting lineup going forward. Fultz needs to defend the worst perimeter scorer. He's just not very engaged and lacks defensive instinct, which is unfortunate.

Supposedly Zach Lowe said on ESPN that it's basically a done deal pending a physical/medical reports.

Sportscenter isn't on right now. Probably just talking about what he said earlier.

Derek has always been a good guy, and visits this board, but I'm surprised by his take that a) Fultz is way ahead of the other prospects and b) it's ok to give up the farm for him.

He's been saying it all year. He's been consistent. He's wrong, but he's consistent.

No one is wrong until things play out. Won't know for quite a while what the "right" move is. He's entitled to his opinion just like everyone else, you just may feel otherwise.

I think they are just talking about what he said earlier, where he'd be shocked if it isn't completed and they want Fultz in town to meet and I guess take a physical.

It's possible, but what would the Lakers offer? Ingram is reportedly off the table, and it's unlikely they'd be willing to package Russell with the 2nd pick. The best secondary piece you're going to see the Lakers offer is Julius Randle. Is Julius Randle more valuable than say the '18 Lakers 1st? Probably not.

I don't know, I don't watch ESPN, I'm just reiterating what scrolls down my timeline when it does.

This is a horrible deal for the 76ers. Fultz is a talented prospect but he's not worth that much. Larry Bird said he would never trade with Danny Ainge. Ainge is known for fleecing teams and it seems he's going to do it again.

The Sixers really want Fultz and are going hard after him. If they think he's a future superstar, then to them it's worth it. That's all that really matters in the end. If they're right on their evaluation of Fultz or not. If he's a star it's worth the price.

Didn't you make a post about them and Fultz a couple weeks ago and hearing about it from a source you met? Looks like you were right :D

That report is bs. This is the Celtics leaking these fake reports to get as much as possible out of the 76ers. The Lakers have been leaning Jackson for a while now.

Yeah, well I said I heard from someone I trust that said Bryan Colangelo absolutely is in love with Fultz. That's the only information I had. Me saying I think they try and trade up was speculation on my part.

Wouldn't it be better in a 3 way trade with Chicago, Boston, and Philly than trading directly with Boston? Even if we had to send Okafor to Chicago?

Tom Moore: Interesting thing is I had a league source tell me recently that ‘Bryan doesn’t like dealing with’ Ainge. – via Twitter

Sam Amick: Sense from involved parties in Boston-Philly talks is Cs are all in. Checking physicals, poised to give No. 1 for package centered on No. 3 –

Steve Kyler: I think Fultz is best guy, but Celtics have to build their team. Most NBA talent folks don’t see a huge gap between Fultz/Ball/Jackson/Fox – via Twitter stevekylerNBA

Told #Sixers brain trust is back from private Josh Jackson workout in Sacramento.

Let's synthesize:

We're going to make a deal with a GM Colangelo doesn't like because he knows him as a shark, and before we discuss Josh Jackson and whether we can squeeze the Sacramento Kings?

Meanwhile the Celtics are all-in on a lopsided deal, even though most GM's don't believe there's that great a difference between #1?

I call b.s. There's a full court press on BC to do this deal. But it's not done yet, for no stated reason. Stay strong, B.

That we have Lakers fans coming over to tell us what a terrible deal this is makes me feel better. Chicago being involved in a three way makes sense for all three teams. Do I love piling on assets in a trade to Ainge? Hell no, but Fultz is the only guy in this draft I truly love, so do it. In a couple of years it will be Boston, Philly and Milwaukee battling for supremacy in the EC, very much a replay of the early '80's. Not so sure if the Lakers will be the big bad team out west this time though. (-;

If this trade does go through, then Boston either has a deal lined up for a star OR they want to save a bit more money for FA...We and the Kings are the two teams that could probably do that without them adding more money.

i just don't see how this doesn't end with the deal dying due to either the Lakers taking their guy at 2 or Colangelo getting cold feet due to Ainge wanting to Billy King him.
