Fultz is a great prospect but it's not like he's Anthony Davis/Lebron/ etc. If Boston could get Ball or Jackson + the Kings pick for Fultz he should do it in a heartbeat.

Seems odd that Lakers' fans love this trade for the Celtics, do Lakers' fans not think that they're going to be 'much improved' next season, all of sudden?

I know, all of a sudden Lakers fans say giving up their pick is "too much value!"

More like the narrative of Ball being a Laker has been drilled into our minds so much that I think many Lakers fans haven't followed Fultz closely enough to see how special a player he is. In fact I'm pretty sure if we had the number 1 pick the majority of us would think Ball is the better prospect. I definitely think the 76ers are huge winners in this deal.

I just want to see more teams in the East make an effort to get better and make a stronger league.

It's also fun whenever the NBA isn't the "No Balls Association"

i don't see that at all. If Boston can heavily upgrade their roster with a Butler or whomever , then maybe they can overtake a burned out LeBron and co.

I agree with this assessment depending who they can add. I think the Cavs are in the finals again next year for sure, but if Boston signs Blake and trades for PG13 or Butler I don't see Cleveland beating them past next year.

people also just assume that bron is going to reup with "the land". bad assumption. Ainge may be calculating that bron is on the move post 18.

Celtics have the PG already in IT so Wings to try to match up with Lebron and the Warriors is more imperative.

You don't get a trophy for winning 2nd place. What 34 year old LeBron does is pretty irrelevant with GSW dominating.

They'd do it just because they've been upset every since Kobe, Bynum trade and picking D'Angelo while saddling them with Okafor

Seems like he'd be a rental though, eventually making his way back to LA. It's also his father's wish and Lonzo is obviously loyal to his family.

Hmmm so I'm hoping there's something truly diabolical going on here bahahaha. I'm no fan of Fultz's yet, is anyone? Has anyone even seen him play? haha he's the least studied and most under the radar #1 of all time!

Here's what I'm thinking...

76'ers pay #3 + Lakers '18 pick to leap Lakers to #1, but instead decide to take Ball with the #1, and then proceed to trade him to the Lakers for the #2 + Russell.

#1 76'ers - Ball (traded to Lakers for #2 + Russell
#2 Lakers - Jackson (traded to 76'ers)
#3 Celtics - Fultz (traded down to #3, picked up Lakers '18)

lol would be awesome, what a cluster ****!

I feel like Ainge is trying to walk out of this summer with a top pick this year (Jackson or Tatum) Jimmy Butler, a top pick next year (Trade the 2018 Brooklyn pick and keep one from Philly or vice versa) and maybe Hayward/Griffin. That's got to be why they'd trade the #1 pick. You basically keep the same assets you currently have and snag Jimmy Butler. The only cost would really be getting a lesser prospect this year than Fultz.

I'm thinking maybe something like Brooklyn 2018 pick, Jae Crowder, Marcus Smart for Jimmy Butler. Maybe the Bulls make them throw in another 1st, either Boston's own 2018 pick or the Memphis one they've got. If they can get Gordon Hayward this summer that'll be insane.

So is it..

Philly gets #1
Chicago gets #3 and Okafor and I'd guess the Lakers 2018 1st
Boston gets Butler and remaining picks
