I'll say this, he likes to take contested shots, but I'll be damned if he doesn't hit almost all of them. His PnR game is insane; Embiid will score pretty easily if that becomes a frequent wrinkle.

Additional thoughts:

Washington must have been top 10 in possessions per game. They barely have the ball in their hands for longer than 10 seconds. If they had the horses and played good defense, they probably could have been decent this year. I can see why Fultz put up such gaudy stats.

fultz was an efficient scorer with lack of spacing and no second option. picture perfect jump shot (albeit a little slow release), advanced offensive skillset at age 18. kid is only going to get better

Several weeks ago, I had proposed the obvious trade.......#3 pick, 2018 1st rounder and Okafor to the Bulls...Butler to the Celtics...Fultz to the Sixers

As a celtic fan there isn't a package the Sixers could offer that id accept.

Not one they'd actually be willing to part with.

However I know Ainge enough to know that he's willing to do something dumb like this.

He's prolly the onky gm in the league that's willing to trade the first overall pick without immeditley being a championship contender

If the Celtics are getting Jimmy Butler in this deal, they need to shed equivalent salary in order to still be able to sign another MAX free agent, which I think is their plan. If they just take back Butler, they lose too much cap.

It's interesting to see the wildly differing opinions on this one. The Celtics board comment of the #3, LAL pick, Sacto pick, and another #1 from Philly is laughable, but I get it. Why not ask for the moon? If BC made that deal, he should be banned from the league and Silver should block the trade like the league did with CP3 years ago. Just the same, the fantasy 3 team trade for Philly whereby all they give up is the #3 pick is equally unlikely. The fact is, the #3 and the LAL pick is more than fair to move up to #1 unless Boston prefers something like J. Randle and the #2 instead. If they do, Ainge is nuts and sadly for LA, they don't have much else to offer since I doubt they're ready to part with Ingram.

BC just can't panic because despite Celtic fans hoping they have all the leverage, the top player in this draft (sorry Ball/Jackson fans. I respect your opinions, but don't agree) just happens to play the same position where they are loaded. They may even look at the 76ers as a cautionary tale with what happened at the C position and don't intend to duplicate it. In the end, I'm guessing it's what I said above, praying it's less, and will be pissed if it's more (#1 picks or players that is).

No problem....Would love Avery Bradley......but I'd take Tyler Zeller off their hands...only one year left on his deal....need a backup to replace Okafor anyway

I don't think Fultz is the generational, can't miss prospect that holds the huge #1 pick value. I'd love to have him, and he is the consensus top pick, but I think Ainge will come out on top if he gets more than one future first.

The important point here is that Ball and Jackson are both better than Fultz, and we shouldn't give up anything to get Fultz.

Fultz may be terrific in the end, but that doesn't mean that we should give up assets to get him.

Sounds like the meeting with Fultz is the only major hold up in this deal.

BOS gets Butler
PHI gets 1 plus filler

I also figure Boston will dump a salary on Philly so they can offer a full max to Hayward. I don't know which one they will want to dump, however, hence filler.

If Boston was willing to give the #1 pick and Jaylen Brown, Jimmy would probably already be wearing green...

Which if true just means the Sixers defintley won't be willing to offer a package danny should accept.

For example if the Sixers offered number 3, Lakers and sac pick I personally wouldn't do it and I'm sure most of you wouldn't even do it.

It's a conundrum. We celtic fans have been waiting for this pick since 2014 and I will personally be outragged if danny just trades it away for Josh Jackson.

3 weeks ago danny said we need another scorer. Then drafts another non shooter.

So typical and if the Sixers can get fultz with that teams prospects good for you guys. Seriously. And shame on Ainge for letting fultz go in the division.

Yeah, this deal could take a few days before the sixers are ready to commit.

I'm on board for #3, lakers 18 pick, and future sixers first for #1.

I don't want to give of the kings pick. The value of that pick has the highest likelihood of being another top 5 selection. The lakers and sixers own pick are likely to be late lottery role player types that we can fill through other means.

Like most of the experts I do feel that Fultz is clearly the best talent and has the highest likelihood of being a star player among this years draft. Not to mention his projected scoring and ISO talents are exactly what the sixers need to fit with our existing two studs. To me spending our other picks to get him is worth the investment that he will bring.

I don't think the other two prospects in the top 3 are Anywhere close to the value that fultz brings in relation to what makes our particular team better:

Josh jackson is a talented all around prospect, however i feel that his position is more easily filled with 3 and D players at a lower cost to complete our current team structure. Also in current NBA, having a 20+ point lead scorer is much more difficult to find than a good all around Swiss Army knife player. Jackson will never be a #1 or #2 scorer on a championship team and that is what we need to complement Simmons.

Lonzo Ball is a stud point guard and great playmaker. But again he is not a stud scorer that fultz can be. I feel like lonzo brings talents that are repitive to what we have with Ben and that would not complete the team as nicely.

this is the must trade move for our teams chemistry and to maximize the player development of our existing roster

Told #Sixers brain trust is back from private Josh Jackson workout in Sacramento.

Let's synthesize:

We're going to make a deal with a GM Colangelo doesn't like because he knows him as a shark, and before we discuss Josh Jackson and whether we can squeeze the Sacramento Kings?

Meanwhile the Celtics are all-in on a lopsided deal, even though most GM's don't believe there's that great a difference between #1?

I call b.s. There's a full court press on BC to do this deal. But it's not done yet, for no stated reason. Stay strong, B.

The Celtics and 76ers have been involved in substantive talks regarding a trade involving the first and third picks in next Thursday’s NBA draft, the Herald has confirmed. The story was first reported by ESPN and The Vertical. According to Herald sources, however, the move does not appear to be imminent, and it’s quite possible nothing will be decided until perhaps Monday. – via Boston Herald
