Boston probably wanted Ingram and Zubac. The Lakers probably offered Randle and Clarkson lol.

Them throwing Bradley in would be a no brainier for them. Frees up cap space, makes room for Butler or Hayward. For us it gives another perimeter defender to go along with Roco and we hold his bird rights

But we're helping them with their cap problem.

Anyway, I just sent them following. It didn't bounce back. My Josh Harris mail bounced back.

Yes it does help them with their cap but Bradley helps us as well. It's a win win. Besides, we're probably making the playoffs this year (or in serious contention for them) and Bradley will help moving up a seed. Like I said win win

Sorry, OleSchool, it's 'lose-lose' for us if we make this deal unless Fultz is truly the Second Coming. Washington couldn't even beat Yale. It's just losing a little worse. And by helping a divisional rival build a powerhouse - add Buttler and possibly Ibaka - doesn't strike me as 'win' in any way, especially since Bradley will be a free agent in 2018.

Payroll management is part of the deal.

Without having read any posts in this thread, I am 100% with trading for Fultz, knowing that we are probably going to give up way too much. Fultz-Simmons-Embiid as a core is going to be special. Add to that Cov, Dario, Tj, Richaun, TLC etc we are going to be a threat for the next 10 years.

At some point you have to cash in your assets, and Fultz makes so much sense for us. We also avoid Lowry and BC seems to not want to take major shortcuts, which is encouraging. Please make this happen!

I'm watching sportscenter on Espn and their rundown on the tv is showing Markelle Fultz conversation should be coming up. So that should be somewhere between now and noon.

At this point, if this trade will go down, I hope the Celtics' fans are going to feel how the Sixers' fans felt after the Noel trade.

Philly is the only team that makes sense because the Celtics don't want to take back salary and keep open max salary cap space for free agency.

If the Bos/Philly deal doesn't get done then I expect the Celtics to keep the #1 pick

Where did I say I was in favor of this trade? I said it looks like the deal is done and I'm just trying to milk something else out of Bos. And those days of Hinkie winning every trade are over (thanks JC)so I'm just trying to salvage something.

Bos is going to get one of Butler, PG, Ibaka, or Griffin no matter what we do. Might as well try to weaken them and help us in the process.

Bottom line is this, I want either Beverly or Bradley on this team and if a trade is already happening why not try to get something else?

Yeah, we're helping you to offer the max to Hayward or Griffin without trading any of Bradley, Smart and "SL goat" Rozier.
We deserve a discount for this :D

So everything's still progressing.

Was kind of hoping that once it was out in the news and didn't get done right away it would die.

I hate the idea of giving up that Laker pick.

This is exciting times. The one thing I like is that it has accomplished a couple things:

- Gets us Fultz who seems like the best fit possible of any player
- If LAkers want Fultz, it makes them give up prospects and makes their team weaker in 2018, resulting in a better pick
- Hopefully keep that Sacramento pick

What I don't like.

- 2 #1 draft picks on bad, non Tourny teams. Odds are high one of them won't live up to expectations
- Might be giving up assets and Jackson could wind up being a better player.

So lets just say, that we make the deal, and don't get royally screwed.

Fultz for #3, LAL, OKC (one can argue that is being screwed... but it could be worse).

Do we turn around and go hard after Butler? (Okafor, Philly 18, Sac 19, Philly 20)

Fultz / Bayless / TJ
Butler / TLC / Nik
RoCo / Kormaz / Anderson
Simmons / Saric /
Embiid / Holmes

I'd be absolutely stunned if Ainge gives up AB here. He would rather send him to Chicago for Butler

My guess is that Demetrius Jackson or Terry Rozier is added for cap purposes

For sure.
But I hope the deal will be #3 plus the lesser of PHI/LAL 2018, so you guys will feel like us after the Noel trade :D

That kind of scares me... Gives Ainge an opportunity to ask for more... Also if Lakers take Jackson we might be stuck with Ball again... ughgh... Just get it done now!

Yeah if Ainge does that that's a fireable offense. I think it's clear he wants at least #3 and LAL 2018.

He's (hopefully) not Phil Jackson. Draft Express said we'd only trade the pick if Ainge gets a "Brooklyn-type fleece" so I'd assume #3 and LA 18 are definitely in there

I think that's exactly why it won't happen until then - Jackson has to be there.

(I'd be fine with Ball)
