With the draft a little over a week away, who are you guys looking to target? Who are your favorite prospects at 18?

Re: Who are your draft targets?
Thanks for making this. I was going to make it.
In order:
1. John Collins- My comparison is Derrick Favors. The big difference is Favors was a top 5 pick. Maybe Collins will not be a stretch and will have to get better defensively but I think he will be ready to start when Thad Young is gone.
2.Zach Collins- I don't think he will be available at 18 and he is not worth jumping up for because I can't see him being ready to start anytime soon but he could be a good big ready to play big minutes 2 to 3 years from now.
3. Justin Patton- He is big and mobile enough. Has a little bit finesse and wanting to be a outside player to his game for me but if molded correctly could surprise.
4. TJ Leaf- I really don't want to draft him but he does seem like he could be a real average NBA player. He will probably be better in pick and pop than anything else. He may grab a rebound or two on some nights.
5. Dwayne Bacon- I think of Stephen Jackson and Lance Stephenson personality wise. His game IMO is Demar Derozan like, lov.es mid-range even though I think his 3 pointer is ahead of Derozan. I don't doubt that he will be one of the steals of the draft.
6. Thomas Bryant- Thomas is set to go undrafted let some of these publications tell it. I can remember screaming for my then Hawks to draft Hassan Whiteside. He was long, athletic, had been productive in college but they found stuff during the process. I get that same feel with Bryant. He came in to college productive. He is long, big enough for a C in the pro's. He is another one of my steals of the draft.
Others:
Luke Kennard: If Kennard is there at 18 I would have no problem with the pick. He is hit or miss to me. He could start by seasons end or end up out the league by first contract, or both. I have too many questions.
Bam Adebyo: I would pass on him because I think he is the worst type of big.A premadonna who should be trying to be a tough guy rebounder, finisher, and defender.
Devin Robinson: I love his size for a SF, he is 6"8 or 6"9 with a 40 inch vertical. That is Rudy Gay like stuff. I also liked his play when I saw him at Florida. He is another guy that could be a huge steal.

Another new mock...

18. Indiana — Jordan Bell, F, Oregon. This could be a stretch for Bell, who has been slotted as a late first-round pick. But there are teams in the top 20 who just might take the plunge. The Pacers worked out Bell back in mid-May, and he was a standout at the NBA Draft Combine just before that. The Pacers are headed into an offseason pocked with question marks, and they should be open to drafting the best available player. But the prospect of putting an athletic, defensively versatile big man into the frontcourt with Myles Turner will be tempting.

Re: Who are your draft targets?
I'm warming up to Michigan's DJ Wilson but it doesn't look like we've had him in for a workout.
I'm hoping for a mobile backup 4 in round one and a wing defender in round two. I think we're okay at point unless we lose Teague or Ellis. I do not share the view that we need a shooting guard in round one (unless he's head and shoulders the BPA) as I want to give Lance and GRob every opportunity to succeed. Even Joe Young should get a shot paired with Lance. I really only want a center if Turner is going to play both the starting center and the backup power forward or Niang or some power forward in Fort Wayne has the coaches ready to give them a shot.
Locked on NBA has a series of mock draft podcasts going and they had us taking Kennard. We're in the third part of the mock.
https://audioboom.com/channel/lockedonnba
I'm probably on team trade down although I'd be equally happy buying a low first round pick or a high second round pick or moving Jefferson or Ellis to get one. Portland and Orlando both have picks they may not be able to use. I'm assuming CJ and Brooks are gone giving us two open roster spots. Also there are the two new two-way D-League roster spots but I'm unclear on whether 2nd round draftees can be offered two-way contracts.

Re: Who are your draft targets?
Jordan Bell, OG Anunoby, Justin Jackson, Bam Adebayo. All I think are incredibly physically gifted players with potential to be special. With the right development, they can all be studs.
Later in the draft, would love to see Josh Hart or Frank Mason III. I'd love to see us draft some winners from the collegiate level, both of these guys are the ultimate in college basketball winners and have done so at the highest level. Think they've got the maturity and smarts to make it, regardless of how much true potential and growth they have left.

The two south Carolina players belong on the proven winners list. Hart and Swanigan too.

Blossomgame as well. 4 year, hard-nosed, defensive minded player at Cuse.

You'd have to trade pg to pick that high and I don't see it.

You don't see Celtics giving up a pick that high for Paul or you don't see triple T?

The PG news changes some things. I was trying to be realistic for pick 18.

Myles Turner, your table is ready. Rise and shine!
Sindarius Thornwell
Caleb Swanigan
Monte Morris
This organization needs down to Earth hardworking ready to play now players with skills.

Re: Who are your draft targets?
with PG likely gone, the need for a wing/shooter just past the need for a stretch-4. I still like Thornwell and Hart in the second and am only luke warm on Kennard at 18. getting a 2017 lottery pick in a PG trade may now be a priority.
I think we had a productive wing in Fort Wayne last year who was going to get a training camp invite and may be more ready than a draftee. putting a couple of Ants on two-way contracts makes a lot of sense.

Well with the uncertainty of Teague and now PG, I would say we take BPA, we basically have a need everywhere.

Re: Who are your draft targets?
I hope we go as heavy-Indiana in the draft as possible. OG in the first round would be ideal, then Swanigan, Bryant, and Alec Peters from Valpo should all be there in the 2nd round. If we could get players used to the small market and location already, that could go a long way to keeping guys around and building a culture of players that want to be here. A pipeline, of sorts.
Speaking of the second round, like mentioned above, there are a TON of good players that are going to be available in the second round. I hope we think about purchasing picks at some point, because I think we're going to see a lot of difference makers out of the 2nd round players in this class.
