Ainge clearly has 2 players above Fuktz, wonder who? Ball and Jackson? Cellino and Barnes? Who the heck knows

[edit] or he is trading the pick

Two things hurt me about this trade.

1. We don't get to see the Celtics draft 1 and then relax the rest of the way.

2. Those pictures of Fultz in Green will be like Kobe times ten cause this one was real.

the one red flag I thought about Fultz, and you guys can take it with a grain of salt is that his best win in college was vs #99 RPI ranked Colorado by 2.

He had 5 losses vs teams that had worse than 100 RPI's(Yale, Zona St twice and Washington St twice)

I just cant see a clear cut #1 prospect doing that, and then his team ended up losing like 15 straight to end the season. That just makes me scratch my head.

100%

Josh jackson hasn't made a workout with the celtics, this is about something bigger.

We will see. Ainge had a tendency to fall in love with guys that cannot shoot.

Plus what else is there? If ainge plans on trying to beat the warriors he's going to blow all his asset's and come up short.

You acquire draft picks in the miraculous hope that they are the number 1

There's a consensus number 1 pick

You... Trade it?

This is balls on the line stuff, if Fultz is a genuine superstar you missed a golden opportunity for the franchise. We'll see, but I don't like it at first look

If Jackson is THE guy in this class and you get him at 3, while using the additional picks to grab PG or something then sure but **** me this is a gamble.

Also anyone else scared DA will get cute at 3 after working out the likes of Smith and Markannen?

I wouldn't say it's a matter of 2 other players being "above" Fultz, but on par with him, probably so. I'd happen to agree. I think 3 of the Top 6 guys are All Star caliber players, so I think he can still get a play as high of quality as Fultz at #3. To also get that Lakers pick AND another 1st rounder.... pshhhh, that's a no brainer.

Well, this just may free up our Thursday night if true, so we have that going for us, which is nice. Still waiting however to hear it confirmed from the Celtics side or at least a Cs writer.

Man, I really didn't think Ainge was that dumb.

Turns out, I'm the idiot.

Should have known not to trust a guy promising "fireworks" for the past few seasons but always failing to deliver.

This might be an all time worst trade.

All this time waiting for a #1 pick and we get a guy who won't even workout for us.

Who are you? Have you not heard of the Nets' trade? How about #1 for #3(McHale) and Parish? You have zero clue of what you are talking about. I'm guessing you get all your information from ESPN.

Didn't realize Ainge made the McHale and Parish trade

Makes a ton of sense. No one after Fultz is really that big of a get.

Ainge could have been told by the agent of Hayward or Griffin that they won't be leaving their teams for just IT.

This trade doubles the Celtics odds in the 2018 draft and that draft has 5 of their top 10 with big men unlike the small guard and maybe small forward heavy draft we're in.

Reports of LeBron possibly leaving in one year could of also played out how Ainge thought it would and is loading up to take over the East when CLE steps down.

So, again there are a ton of possible reasons to trade down and trade for Butler now that this has happened so early.

It doesn't make sense for Ainge to consdier Josh Jackson or Tatum to be the same level of prospect as Fultz (Although I can see the argument of Tatum and LAL pick next year is better than just Fultz... but that's risky)

Have to see the details and the follow up move but I'm not a fan of the move. Hope I'm wrong and we have 2 top 4 picks next year

Return to Boston Celtics
