Oh yeah. And trading the #3 and further assets for Butler isn't fireworks. Most were laughing at that idea on the deadline. Man, hopefully there's some deal lined up for a star no one sees coming, but I think it will be Butler.

Josh Jackson or trading for Butler...

Trading 3 for 5 and 10 would be the worst though. Going from a stud at #1 to couple role players when this team is screaming for star quality would be such an underwhelming draft night.

Guys Ainge just pulled off the best preemptive trade in NBA history. I can feel it. Just be patient.

Still........ I mean, common on.... That's a ridiculous haul.

It is a good deal. How good depends on the Sac. protection, and the follow up trade(s).

On the plus for you guys, at least it's settled which direction the team is headed. You guys will probably acquire 2 of Butler/Hayward/George/Griffin before the season starts (all players who are just entering their prime). Time will tell how the trade turns out for both teams.

Which would be great if KD wasn't a Warrior and Lebron was several years older. We're just working our way into 2nd or 3rd place for several years before entering mediocrity again. Gonna be embarrassing for Ainge if we suck in 4-6 years after accomplishing nothing and you guys are competing in the playoffs.

Kind of funny how our society is today. It's much like the marshmallow test from the 60s. Everyone wants instant gratification. Nobody wants to wait. Simple, but interesting.

Does Fultz stand alone in this draft? I say no. I love this trade.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Fultz is overhyped. Let's be honest.

I think Adam Silver mandated that. Doesn't wanna see the 19 draft being made a mockery of as well.

The way Woj framed that tweet makes it unclear if the Sac pick or both picks gave protections. If the LA pick has any protection, Ainge should be fired on the spot.
