I get that but the 2018 draft will be 10 times more talented than this one. It's players at every position, Ayton and Porter are early favorites for 1 and 2 but that could change over the course of the NCAA season.

No. It won't.

Don't know how many of those players you've actually seen yet, but from what I saw the first 10-12 picks will be better than this one...bank on it. This draft, after the first 5 go it's all role players after that.

Doubt it, you don't pass on a real 7 footer like Ayton that can do everything he can. He's going to kill at Arizona next season. Plus I don't trust Euro players to come over and have that effect, it's always an adjustment period for them especially when they're young like he is.

Kinda the way he always looks. He's got some tantalizing ability, but there's a "casualness" to him on the court that's rather concerning imo. I wouldn't blame the Celtics for taking a more fiery player like Jackson instead.

You really can't factor how a person's demeanor is like to evaluate their talents, well perhaps some do, but they really shouldn't.

Derrick Rose was infamous of showing absolutely no emotions the majority of the time, and at one point he was one of the best players in the league. T-Mac used to have relaxed, don't give a f*** type of demeanor either, until he'd explode past you and dunk all over your grill.

D'Angelo Russell if he plays with more sense of urgency probably won't be frustating to watch. It's a shame because i like his skillset. i hope Russell this year become more focused.

What's Boston's plan right now?

I actually like the trade for them, in terms of value and fit. I think you could have gotten away with Fultz playing the 6th man role for a year or two, but you eventually had to make a decision there, and I'm not sure Isiah would have commited to the Celtics knowing he would have eventually been traded, and as an expiring, I don't think Boston would have gotten good value for him. Simply put, the Celtics got unlucky, because the top prospect in this draft was a point guard. If this was any of the last two years with Simmons and Towns, i think they take their guy and don't look back. Once you realize a move had to be made, I like this in terms of value. I'm just really curious what the next step is. I think they can easily land butler (Bradley/Zeller/3rd/other picks) and sign Hayward/Griffin, while still having the assets to pull off another major trade (PG?)

Now i've seen it all.

Stephen A Smith, in all his infinite wisdom, suggested that Philly are trading up to take Josh Jackson #1  . I mean if they did Colangelo would be fired the next day.

You're more generous than I am, he'd be fired during the draft if I were in charge and he pulled a stunt like this.

SAS is a gimmick. Pretty much EVERYONE knows that.

Not even his fellow peers take him seriously.

I don't disagree that Jackson should be the pick. He'll be better than both Fultz & Ball. But, like you say, it's all a gimmick.

Doncic is going to enter the 2018 NBA draft as one of the best (if not the best) players in Europe. There has never been a 19 years old Euro prospect that come to the draft as the best PLAYER of Europe. The kid is special and already had a lot of leadership around him to make him understand how is to be a pro and a winner.
I guess you shouldn't pass on a 7 footer, even in today's NBA, but in 2018 the best player is Doncic. So it's a decision between 7 footer and best player. There's Anthony Davis and KAT but also Greg Oden, Thabeet, Olowakandi and Kwame Brown.
Thing is, Anthony Davis and KAT were not only the best projects, but also the best players. I could be wrong, but Doncic is the best player. You can say European leagues are not the same as NBA, but his competition is playing in college, not NBA.
