So the Celtics after thoroughly scouting the players, were basically able to add another Brooklyn-ish pick while getting a player at 3 that they feel is as good or better than the player at 1.

I was down for it when it looked like we would have some assets left, but to come even close to Cavs or Warriors then it will involve blowing everything.

Lakers pick conveys between 2-5. Still possible to get #1 & 2 next year. Hopefully the Kings will still suck in 2 years if that Laker pick is out of the top 5 though.

Lebron and Duncan prospects are transcendent, Fultz is not

I'll settle for questionable prospects who were consensus number 1 picks by the draft like john wall and kat. That's the type of players going number 1.

So you're still convinced that the no.1 picks Oden, Rose, Griffin, Irving and Wiggins are the best players out of their draft?

And KAT looks like a good prospect, but Porzingis is right behind him and he plays much better D than him. Time will tell.

They may not be the best players in the draft, but other than oden, they were at least close to it. And whether they are or not, all of them are fantastic players.

Also: why assume we keep this year's pick and trade the future one? Maybe we trade the #3 and keep the LAL pick. Two shots next year or one at Bagley in '19 (or if Bagley's in '18 draft and we have two picks there.....)

The Lakers don't have any picks in their portfolio. None of their players would appeal to Danny, except possibly Ingram

I do not understand this. You have an opportunity to draft a franchise PG. Instead you draft 6'9 Marcus Smart + top/bottom protected pick + give 200 million to thomas.

he's 6'8" tho

And one of the best athletes in the draft. Smart was never a great athlete

If this deal will be signed before the draft and therefore isn't contingent on Jackson being available, it really isnt about him. We may take Fox, Tatum, Ball, Monk -- hell you really don't know. It's no longer safe to assume Jackson is the target.

The goal is to flip the picks for a star. Hopefully we can keep the 3rd pick and the Nets 2018 pick.

We need to use the Lakers pick next year along with our own 2018 pick (non Nets), the pick we got from the Kings along with a current player to get that star.

I'm really hoping we keep this year's 3rd pick and that player becomes as good if not better than Fultz.
