Had to be top one protected.... Of course, there's every chance we already get the top pick from BKN. Danny is a degenerate gambler, I don't hate it but it's no good for my heart.

This is what people hate about this forum. You aren't even addressing the possibility that Ainge having no interest in Fultz is a bad thing. I'm not one of the people mad about the trade, but come on.

He has more info than us. I wanted Fultz btw. He watched the guy live a dozen times. He has been into this for a long time. He lives in college gyms. Ainge knows college talent.

We must admit that he has more info than us. If he was willing to give up this pick, what does the tell you?

If we turn #1 into #3 and a future #5 this is a major failure. If we turn #1 into a Butler/PG13 and a future #5 this is a major win. We will have to be patient and see if there is another shoe to drop, but man this **** is intense.

Yeah, not really sure why people are theorizing about that - if there was another trade lined-up, it'd have been a 3-team deal right away.

Considering Ainge's draft record, shouldn't he actually be feeling better about himself, or at least indifferent?

I think this is great for Fultz - he's a pure PG who should see all of his minutes at the 1. That's the way for him to reach his potential.

I am no insider but watch an inordinate amount of basketball and have an understanding of what Danny Ainge values in a ball player and saw this coming from a mile away. Josh Jackson is all Danny Ainge.

Now Ainge may jerk me now too but understand for everyone who has been pumping Fultz stat line all season and ignoring the fact that he couldn't beat ... well you know. Danny Ainge had the same stat line and owned.
