I'll settle for questionable prospects who were consensus number 1 picks by the draft like john wall and kat. That's the type of players going number 1.

So you're still convinced that the no.1 picks Oden, Rose, Griffin, Irving and Wiggins are the best players out of their draft?

And KAT looks like a good prospect, but Porzingis is right behind him and he plays much better D than him. Time will tell.

They may not be the best players in the draft, but other than oden, they were at least close to it. And whether they are or not, all of them are fantastic players.

But still not the best, like what most of you guys are expecting from Fultz to be. The draft is just based on a lot of hype and people fall for it over and over again. You just have to have a good GM and coach like Ainge and Brad who dont fall for the hype, these guys will select the right talent with that 3rd pick.

After my initial rage, I have calmed down a bit.

I still feel Ainge didn't fleece them at all. In fact I think he lost the deal. I am very disappointed at that, and I liked the first trade Woj reported

If this deal will be signed before the draft and therefore isn't contingent on Jackson being available, it really isnt about him. We may take Fox, Tatum, Ball, Monk -- hell you really don't know. It's no longer safe to assume Jackson is the target.

Exactly. There are probably two targets the Celtics have after Jackson and Fultz.

Lakers pick conveys between 2-5. Still possible to get #1 & 2 next year. Hopefully the Kings will still suck in 2 years if that Laker pick is out of the top 5 though.

Sixers got it and all they had to do was give up pick 3 and pick 4 or 5 next year.

Every asset in the world danny had last year the Sixers wouldn't of taken to give up pick number 1.

OK, so it's either a really strong Laker pick or an unprotected King's pick in 2019.

Obviously Danny was never going to draft Fultz either way. I would guess the medical went bad

This is what people hate about this forum. You aren't even addressing the possibility that Ainge having no interest in Fultz is a bad thing. I'm not one of the people mad about the trade, but come on.

He has more info than us. I wanted Fultz btw. He watched the guy live a dozen times. He has been into this for a long time. He lives in college gyms. Ainge knows college talent.

We must admit that he has more info than us. If he was willing to give up this pick, what does the tell you?

Boston's draft record under Ainge, and especially since his son took over as Director of Player Personnel and chief scout, isn't nearly good enough to assume their assessment is the correct one.

Especially considering their tendency to draft for "grit" and their belief that it's easier to teach shooting/scoring instincts than defense/intangibles.

If we turn #1 into #3 and a future #5 this is a major failure. If we turn #1 into a Butler/PG13 and a future #5 this is a major win. We will have to be patient and see if there is another shoe to drop, but man this **** is intense.

Butlers knee is cooked and George is gone in a year.

Ainge is aiming for that Sacto pick. IF the LA pick falls between 2 - 5 than he'd be content with it as well. But i think his prime target is that '19 pick. We still got the Nets pick for next year so no worries.
