Maybe this is more about Chicago or Indy loving Jackson and Ainge seeing a chance to double-dip into 2018 where the big men are.

That the team is already liking where it's at PG-wise (they seem to love all of IT, Smart and Rozier) and don't see Fultz as transcendent enough to pass the win-now/double dip in 2018 scenario.

That Himmelsbach tweet makes me feel like I was right on this one.

A good future haul, so not gonna complain about the value, but I hate that this signals were going freaking all-in on IT.

seems like almost everyone more than hinted at it,but then again maybe i read it incorrectly.

I am no insider but watch an inordinate amount of basketball and have an understanding of what Danny Ainge values in a ball player and saw this coming from a mile away. Josh Jackson is all Danny Ainge.

Now Ainge may jerk me now too but understand for everyone who has been pumping Fultz stat line all season and ignoring the fact that he couldn't beat ... well you know. Danny Ainge had the same stat line and owned.

game recognizes game -- or lack of it. Fultz lit up Yale and lost to them. Jackson helped knock off Kentucky and Baylor when they were both ranked in the top 4 nationally.

Fultz had enormous stats because his team sucked.
Jackson had really good stats even with National Player of the Year Frank Mason Jr. playing the role of Markelle Fultz on that team.

Jackson and Brown on the wings would be amazing on both ends.
And if the draft is flat then I guess they think Tatum's pretty much a 6'9" Fultz anyway and they might not be wrong.

If we turn #1 into #3 and a future #5 this is a major failure. If we turn #1 into a Butler/PG13 and a future #5 this is a major win. We will have to be patient and see if there is another shoe to drop, but man this **** is intense.

Even then it might be a failure, if fultz turns into a john wall level player. You can't get wall for butler or pg and #5 next year.

Wall had Boogie, Hayward, and Paul George picked after him. You're in good shape if you are good at eliminating the grenades in the top 10.

If this deal will be signed before the draft and therefore isn't contingent on Jackson being available, it really isnt about him. We may take Fox, Tatum, Ball, Monk -- hell you really don't know. It's no longer safe to assume Jackson is the target.
