i really want to celebrate like most of you guys, but im not sure what we get with fultz. its not like he is embiid special and there is absolute no doubt he is THE guy. fultz has bust potential, so i cant celebrate til he proves he isnt a bust

for the record. i dont see any bust potential with simmons, even if he never develops a jumper. but i see it with fultz..

I think we already have 2 potentially transcendent talents in Embiid and Simmons. Most teams would never be lucky enough to even get one of those sort of guys.

Fultz doesn't have to be transcendent... he just needs to be a 3rd star for us to have Championship potential. Hell I don't care if he does nothing but shoots 3's like Klay... but I think Fultz has the potential to be very very good... he just doesn't need to a superstar for us to consider him not a bust. He compliments this team perfectly. I actually see a lot of Dwayne Wade in him.

yep he hasnt to be transcendent for the sixers to be successful. the point was, you dont sell the farm, which apparently isnt the case, for this kind of prospect.

I find Fultz upside and value is relative to team he lands. With Celts he won't be as good as if he's with the Sixers, not being the Alpha and with two impact players.

So with Bodner's protections, it's still (most likely) in our best interest for the Lakers to be complete crap next year.

If they're awful, we could get either #1 or the Kings 2019 1st. Lot of potential there but some risk if the Kings turn things around in two years.

If they're good, then all we get is a 6th or worse pick in 2018. Not as much potential here.

True, I'm not sure why their fans are upset, if Ainge doesn't see Fultz as a fit, then make the trade and get Jackson at 3.

Simmons is a point forward like lebron.
Fultz is the defensive stalwart PG that kyrie isnt
Embiid is the defensive anchor that love/thompson arent
Covington is the 3&d wing the cavs dont have

This team when healthy can compete with the cavs in the east in 2-3 years and is the most likely team to unseat the warriors over the next 3-7 year window

I like the trade. I understand why people who like Jackson or Lonzo wouldn't be thrilled, but it was time to cash in a few chips and getting Fultz for what you had to pay is a good step forward, IMO.

Interesting protection on the Laker pick....don't recall ever seeing something like that.....Hard to say what pick is better to keep because we don't know about the 2019 draft....or much about 2018.

I dont have a problem with the 2018 LAL pick and 2019 SAC pick. Lakers will not have an incentive to tank next year and SAC actually played a lot better after the Cousins trade. So minimal loss to move up to 1st pick

If the Lakers pick is 8th for example next year and ours is 15th then we can still bundle them to move up in the draft which is key.

These protections mean that the Lakers pick still has a lot of potential value for us.

If it doesn't convey then we give the Kings pick. Giving up 1 pick is better than giving up 2.

Also, Sixers can still end up with picks #1 and #2 next year, although highly unlikely.

Or, they could get Zion and Bagley in 2019 at 1 and 2 overall, with Doncic at 1 in 18.

I mean, still, almost endless possibilities if Fultz for some reason doesn't turn them into instant contenders overnight y'all.

A top and bottom protected LA pick or the unprotected Sacramento pick. I still think Ainge wins this trade in terms of pure value. He's giving himself two more shots at the top of the lottery. I'd bet that the LA pick conveys to Boston next year. My hope is LA lands the #1 pick and Sac makes the playoffs in '19
