Celts will now pursue Butler while retaining two out of Jaylen/3rd pick/Nets 2018.

Plus two out of Smart/Crowder/Rozier.

Plus IT Horford, Zizic, Yabu.

Then land Hayward for Griffin in free agency.

I was okay with this trade but if two of the reasons are that we are overflowing at guard and Fultz didn't win games in college, that makes me mad. Those are poor reasons.

I'm alright with it if you think others are better players, but if you think they are better because they decided to play with a better college team...then..well..that's a bit silly.

Anyway, I think there is honestly a shot we get all of Butler, Hayward, and Griffin so whatever. Let's go.

One win for the "he's not a winner" crowd is that, if you look at Philly, both Simmons and Fultz had the same problem in college. Neither of them are "winners." So people that care a lot about college records and the fact that these guys didn't get to the tournament can be confident that Philly will fill up the stat sheet but probably fall flat on their face at actually winning at anything for the next half a decade at least.

I thought it was going to take a week... I just got over it.

I haven't seen DA lose a trade since I have been a Celts fan, even little trades. I remember people saying they would rather see DA trade picks than draft them, well here you go!!

If you have a winning culture you can teach that to a 19 year old. This is a bull take by the Celtics. So we get Josh Jackson who has won soooo much in college. It's not like these guys are seniors. Jackson might very well become a decent player but he's a ham and egger offensively. Dude blows when it comes to offense. Except shockingly from 3 point land. What a joke.

Ainge better come away with Blake or Hayward plus another upper tier player.

Don't even get me started on the guard take. Bradley should be gone so should Smart. Franchise player Rozier is borderline. Quantity over quality. Celtics made a **** deal on the surface.

So don't make the trade, draft the consensus best player and have him play for your team?

Summer of 2017 is the setup move.

2018 is the kill shot.

Although by the time we're done 2017 may look like a kill shot too.

That's a good haul if the team had a legitimate shot at the title.

But I suspect alot of us here will be happy just getting to the finals.

That is such a sad misinformed take.

Allow me to rephrase. Your saying he's going to put up 30/10 on the Celts forever. He's doing this because some other team besides the Celtics is drafting him #1?

Should be easy when he's being guarded by someone who's 5'9

Is it because he doesn't yell and scream after every basket? Him not being a winner thing is so stupid and pisses me off even more. I can understand he didn't look all that good or he has some serious knee problems ok but that??? What the **** look at his talent not his team

So this offseason doesn't really matter as much, it's next years that really does. Sounds like every offseason since 2013.

There is plenty of time to address it. With many different players.

Why is this so hard?

Maybe I wasn't clear since you intend to use me as your outlet.

Jackson can't shoot.

No guarantee Hayward comes here.

Butler for everything that he is isn't a shooter.

After tonight I don't have trust in Ainge. Get over it bruh

If you want Ainge fired that bad, who do you want that is better than him?

Who knows

Then after they figure it out, we'll have the second coming of the Warriors dominating the NBA for 5-7 straight years...

I don't like Jackson at all. He's a ham and egger. But the only offensive game he has was the 3. Which was incredibly weird.

Gets better and better. Danny really has lost it. This is what happens when you have no idea what you are doing because you are in uncharted waters. That pick doesn't mean as much because you didn't earn it. Your team didn't suck and can't afford to not pic, the consensus number one.

He f*cked up and NOT ONE media person will take him to task. Force him to either answer or walk away. That's a the shame of it.

And why didn't this team suck and earn it and afford not to pick?

Answer? Danny Ainge.

Again has nothing to do with the current situation. See that video of the race at the Braves game last week? Fan was all celebrating and thinking he had won, and the Iceman (who he was running against and had been given a head start against) comes flying by at the last second and he gets shocked and fell down. Danny was all happy and then realized was out of his league.

The fan is Ainge and the competition is Colangelo.

If I'm Fultz and the Celtics had the opportunity to draft me at 1 and traded down I am making them pay for it for the rest of my career. I guess I'm just wired that way. Maybe he isn't. We will see.

Because you know on your team he is back up and Jackson might be a starter.
