What is the risk? Most of the time these deals are about money or a useless future pick. Ainge just got a top 5 pick next year or an unrestricted Kings pick in '19. I get that because Ainge keeps doing this that Boston fans don't understand how rare these type of assets are but to get this from a lottery dwelling team is ridiculous.
Bottom line Fultz isn't Lebron James or Kevin Durant, what do you do? If you can double down.
If we have top 5 lotto odds for two picks next year and we end up keeping the Lakers pick, Danny is a genius. He's a double genius if they lower the age restriction and the 2018 draft is flooded with people like Zion and Bagley. If it's top 3 in 2019, he's a genius.
If it gets to 2019 and then the Kings are good for some reason and the pick sucks, we lost.
Yup, if this works out we're seriously getting into holy **** Red Auerbach rides again territory.
