Maybe everyone jumped the gun on this trade a bit.
#1 for #3 and either a '18 Protected Lakers pick or '19 Kings pick.
If it plays out like this it's a solid deal for both IMO as both will get their guy this draft (Fultz - 76ers & Jackson - Celtics) and the Celtics got paid a little extra to make it happen.
I think that Lakers pick falls between 6-10.

I get what your saying however I still think the Celtics got the best of the deal by far . This deal also gains them more assets to get a star player using pics and that is Huge .

Eisenheart wrote:why all Kings fans want Fox? a PG who can not shoot. i don't know weather he can develope a solid shot or not, but there are more example of guards who couldn't like Rondo, MCW, Payton etc. in modern history you need a PG who can make some 3's. why is everybody so sure that he can make this important developement? i like this guy but i have really big concerns

His shot will take some time IMO and I think he will get there. I'm not saying it isn't a legit concern; however he will find other ways to score anyway.
His work ethic and drive will ensure that, and his shooting will improve due to this, and that is one of the main reasons why I personally like him.
He isn't my favourite in the draft, that title belongs to Jackson as I think he is 1 of 2 that have true superstar potential, but he is really close to this.
He has amazing potential to be an elite two-way player and if he reaches it while being able to run a high calibre offense then he will be the best player out of this draft and a superstar of the league.
I'm not too concerned with his frame of anything, he will be under the guidance of professionals who will take care of him and because he isn't in between positions (like a SF/PF combo) there isn't as much risk with what the conditioning staff does with him.
His speed and quickness in the open court is what is really intriguing. I honestly can’t wait to watch this team on the fast break if we are lucky enough to draft him.
His speed down the court with the ball with Skal and WCS filling the lane is going to get us so many dunks and lay ups while Buddy can pick his spots on the perimeter too.
I hope Joerger plays quickly in that regard. There is a lot more about tempo, positions and skillsets however I’m getting off track.
I will leave it at that, I can understand anyone’s concerns with his shooting, but as many have said you can pick any of the prospects apart in this draft.

I think when the rumours started it was huge, however it is really only 1 pick the Celtics received. Now that pick could be a good one, or it might not be.
If it is indeed only 1 of the Lakers or Kings future picks then I like it a lot for Philly. I would have liked it even more for them if both of those had protections.
Having said all that it does go along the lines of what has been suggested for the #1 pick (us trading the #5 & #10).
This is a deeper draft than next season and if the Lakers play well next season and get to the #10 then it was #3 this year and #10 next year in a not so deep draft versus #5 & #10 this year in a deep draft.
It really points to Ainge not really loving too many prospects this year, but in terms of value it wouldn't have been too far off.

The Laker pick is unprotected for sure

Woj has been wrong before but I agree it doesn't make sense for them to accept protections on both. Until it's announced by the league nothing is for sure.

He has been updating as he gets info and it really does look like #1 for #3 and '18 Lakers 1st top 3 protected and if that is not conveyed it is the '19 Sacramento 1st.

The updated protection info balances the trade.

If he sticks to his guns he won't. Said it would take a fair bit for him to trade both. Cross our collective fingers.
Just give us the Lakers pick and #3 for 5/10

They just traded the number 1 pick for those 2 picks, so why would they now trade them for 5/10? They could have traded 1 for 5/10 and probably even more...

Because for them the Lakers pick might not convey. It would eventually be 5/10 and Kings '19 1st unprotected for the 1.

No what I'm saying is Ainge could offer #3 for 5/10/+ and Vlade will agree. Kings pay ransom for Fox, Boston drafts DSJ at 5. Ainge gets his PG and a **** ton of value in the process.

Chances of Fox dropping to 5 now? 60%? 70%? 80%? 90%? 99%?

How would any of us know that haha?

Better asking the Phx forum but they'd be guessing too.
