Payton is currently a better player than Saric, but okay.

I haven't seen much of Saric but the fact that DSJ is leading this pole isn't a good sign for Payton.

Just shows the quality of this board, nothing to do with ep

Might mess up Boston's plans but it won't have much effect on us. All the same guys will be gone before we pick either way. Also, I believe the Lakers will take Ball at 2 regardless of the report on his workout.

Hinke really set Philly up well. They tanked right last year, got the 3rd pick and are gonna use that Lakers pick to move up. Could've easily been us in that spot but we didn't have a clear plan and we got screwed out of our pick from the Dwight trade. What a time to be alive :banghead:

If he's such a genius and everything was so skillfully done..... why did he lose his job?

It doesn't take skill to tank but he had a plan and stuck to it. Unlike us who signed guys like Biz and DJ in a attempt to get swept in the first round.

I mean.. the assets Philly used to trade up were from trades Hinkie won. That takes skill

I'm not sure we even have a core.

Philly has potential, no question, but let's be clear:

Simmons hasn't played a minute and needs to show he (a) has recovered rom his injury and then (b) can actually be the playmaker that Philly is posting at the NBA level
Embiid still has to show he can stay healthy. He's played about 35 games in three years?
Fultz has to show he can bring his game to the next level. His attitude has been questioned in the past, specifically around the fact that he has never played for a winning team. Can he do it at the pro level?

Sure, they look good on paper, but it needs to translate to the floor and their team needs to mesh, something they have yet to-do.

What about next year's draft? Anyone interested in a player for next year's draft? Michael Porter? Diallo? Bridges?

Saric isn't really anything special. Doesn't play defense and isn't very efficient. Barely shot better than Elfrid from distance.

Not saying Elf is great but acting like Saric is better and then laughing and saying everyone on the GB will agree... I think the joke would be on you.

Saric is better than Elfrid. He just is. We need to stop fooling ourselves. No one in their right mind would trade Saric for Elfrid right now. To suggest otherwise is delusional. To think that we traded Saric and a pick for Elfird is beyond embarrassing.

We were never in the same boat as Boston...or even Philly.

Boston is just an incredibly managed organization. Slide down 2 spots and pick up more future assets...it wouldn't surprise me if they trade down another couple spots just to grab some more.

That's my point. We both bottomed out at about the same time. We both had superstar assets at the time. They were incredibly managed and we were not. They fleeced Brooklyn, hired a great coach, etc., etc. In addition to where they stand now they were in the Eastern Finals this year. Yeah, some of it was luck and I'm not saying we should be where they are now, but the gap should be a lot smaller.

In that case, yes...you are right lol.

It is depressing to look at what Boston got for KG and Pierce, who were clearly declining hard. Then you think about how Brooklyn was the initial suitor for Dwight when the trade talks first came around. Life would be quite different right now, if we had gotten a similar package.

Also, Saric is only a rookie and putting up nice numbers compared to elf, who btw, could soon be a bench player if he doesnt develop any jumper.

There is a reason that Saric was under consideration being traded for our best asset in AG. I'm not saying we should do that deal, but to suggest that Elf after 3 years is better than Saric after 1 is crazy talk man. I was really high on Sacric as well. I thought he would be a stud. I remember wanting Exum with our fourth and Saric without our 12th. After we picked Gordon, i begged for Henny to take Zach Lavine. But instead he traded up for Elf. One of the worst decisions Henny has ever made.

Lately, providing people with stats or facts to support your argument that some of our players are worth a little more time and development leads to mockery of your stats and facts, a dismissal of the same as irrelevant, and a counter argument of "it just is" followed by a few insults.

everyone agreed that our team was poorly constructed, but now that Hennigan is gone, it's time to pick apart every player on our roster that has a weakness.

Remember too, that if players being discussed come from another team, they automatically have more potential or are in some way better than anyone on our roster.

What are the nice numbers compared to Elf?

I'm expecting some landslide statistics, since you're laughing at this comparison.

I'm not going to debate something that is so blatantly obvious. Elf is not worth getting into a back and forth over. I'm already looking for his replacement and hopefully, our front office is as well.

Soon enough we will see who is good enough to stay or worthless enough to stay by default.
