I hear Fultz is Harden, Tatum is Pierce, Ball is Kidd. Who is a good comparison for Jackson?

I can give you a few names...

Latrell Sprewell, Josh Howard, Andre Iguodala and Shawn Marion.

I loved the two-way game from all these players in his prime.

Trade talk perhaps thinking if the Suns go PG he is on the move.

The team gets JJ and a guy like Josh Hart in the draft - Bledsoe is not going anywhere

Yea...I hate the Stephen Jackson comps....JJ is way more athletic and explosive. Same goes for Howard. Marion/Iggy/Spre (especially the attitude <wink>).

Local Phx radio? I haven't heard Fox anywhere except from some national people and their mocks/rankings which are mostly generic. We didn't work out any point guards so that seems kind of odd. Or was it a national show?

It was NBA radio. I heard it late at night so it was a replay from some time yesterday.

I live in Charlotte, NC so I use satellite for all my basketball talk.

Marion is the name I hear most offense. Athletic and can defend, The offense is a work in progress.

Marion is a tough comp for anyone since he was such a unique player. I don't see nearly the quick twitch athleticism in jackson that marion had that made him special.

Jackson has his warts as a prospect but he would definitely bring some toughness, passing, and defense this team desperately needs. With that said it wouldn't shock me if tatum or isaac end up better nba players. I think those three are all very close as prospects.

If a deal with Dallas or Minnesota for Bledsoe/#32 can be had I'm taking Dennis Smith at #4 and Isaac or Collins at the second slot. Notice DSJ is the only name that's never been mentioned by anyone.

I see a lot of Jimmy Butler in Jackson's game. Two way player, has a good handle, playmaker, great athleticism.

Probably nothing but I do wonder if Bledsoes quietly asked to be traded. He's in his prime and playing for one last huge payday I wouldn't fault him for not wanting to go through another couple years of a rebuild.

I have no idea what will really happen and whom we will end up drafting this Thursday but:

If Lonzo Ball is available we really have to take him unless he is as bad as some suggest.

The reason: This franchise needs an upgrade to relevance. While other players may be better fits no other player offers what Ball does.

1. He sets the standard for this team to play the right way. (That is if our coach understands what that means)
2. He opens up the opportunity to move Bledsoe prior to him signing a $200 Mil contract and blowing out his knees prior the ink drying on the contract.
3. He gives us size at every position. Our defensive rotations should be much easier to manage.
4. He will be a tremendous box office draw.

Can you imagine the Billboards around town advertising Ball and Booker. I expect that immediately the Suns will be the toughest ticket in town to get. Win or lose I expect everyone to tune into the process of this teams future. None of this happens with any of the other guys we could potentially draft. Could the others turn out to be better players, yes. Could Ball turn out to be a bust, yes.

I just think that if he is available at 2 and the Lakers want to make a trade with us, we do everything to make it happen.

This franchise needs more than talent. It need to be relevant again. That is what Lonzo Ball could bring in spades.

Rodman in his prime was a unique talent. But not sure he could - as you state, have that second jump like Marion

I agree. It needs a transformative player. Just not talent. The Suns have talent with Booker, Chriss, Bender. Warren should get better. Ulis. A guy like Williams can be a nice role player. Jones Jr - continue to figure out his niche in the NBA (if I am him, look at Corey Brewer and develop that type of skill - defense, improve your shot, run the floor, finish at the rim)

But the Suns need that superstar player. Booker might be it - but need another one. And looking at the roster - he would fit next to Booker , Chriss, Bender for a long time. Not that Bledsoe won't.

Marion is near the top but David Thompson, Darnell Hillman, Dwyane Wade and Amare also come to mind as quick leapers. Just about any leaper that can explode without having to really load up has a quick second jump.

Marion was one of a kind. Something about his muscle and tissue cells. The Human Pogo Stick.

Not to mention, the draft isn't done yet. If you are the Lakers, and the Sixers just drafted Fultz, and you 'want' Ball, why wouldn't you draft Jackson then ask the Celtics/Suns...who's buyin'?? Not the Celtics...they need a 'win-now' guy, and will get him at 3 in Tatum, so likely 'our' Heat's unprotected pick in 2021, or whatever...doesn't matter. Point is, Boston is not taking Ball--Lavar would have a fit, and Lonzo refused their workout. So, either way, LAL get Ball at 2, OR 4, PLUS a great 1st Rd pick, to boot.

McD gets Jackson, but at a price. But knowing McD, he didn't trade that pic straight up. He swapped this years 2nd for the Lakers (Houston) 1st Rd pick at 28. Small consolation of 5 slots, but we'll take it. Or maybe he added a protection to our pick next year and traded that? IDK, but we get Jackson.

...OR...

Sixers take Fultz, so they can finally say they take the 1st overall pick...yay...then we trade Bledsoe, Miami's 2 1sts, and we replenish what the Sixers traded, plus more, I'm sure, and they get Fox at 4...or Jackson/Tatum (whoever Boston doesn't take) or maybe Ball if Jackson/Tatum go 2-3...

...boy, scenario #2 sure does influence me to just want to sit tight and take whoever is available, and if it's Ball, see who's interested, and allow McD to do his magic...and STILL end up with a good player...

I see a lot of possibles in this class but I see no one worth paying a premium for and that includes Fultz. The smart move AFAIC is to stand still or trade down.
