Just want Fox to be a King. That's all. Hope none steals him from them. Sac needs a talented PG badly. He is the most unique player in the draft imo. That speed is down right freakish. Him and Buddy can make a pretty fun duo to watch.

More like...

Fultz = John Wall
Ball = Jason Kidd
Jackson=....hmmm...Lamar Odum? Perhaps a not as lengthy Lamar Odum. Good size and all around game, and an asset on the defensive end. If you regard prime Lamar highly this is a good choice for any team. I think I can see why Ainge regards him highly. He is thinking about pieces for a championship run, rather than pile on as many possible stars as possible. Wouldn't be surprised if we pick Jackson because we could use a defensive athletic player.

Fultz doesn't have Wall's quickness or build. His ceiling/likeness is closer to someone like Lillard.

Lol @ the Kidd reference. Kidd didn't have a shot coming out. Lonzo will be a decent player. But, comparing him to a HOF pg is ridiculous. Take the homer glasses off.

I actually love jackson. Most potential of the three. Great passer/defender & an athletic freak. People knock his shooting, but that will improve. Much like Simmons. Kawhi didn't have a jump shot coming out either.

Much like Simmons? What has Simmons done so far to prove he has a jump shot?

I meant like Simmons he will work to improve his shot over time. It's the easiest thing to work on. 100's of jumpers everyday.

I think we're in for another weak draft class year just like 2016. I don't see any standouts in this class, everyone looks green and raw.

Ainge should have demanded #3 and #5 draft picks in 2017 for #1 he gave away. Could be a big gamble waiting another year for that 2018 pick.

2017 or 2018 is weak? 2017 looks laden with guys that could be stars. After Fultz, no likely franchise guys but lots of potential 2nd tier stars 2-10 or so. I haven't really looked into 2018 yet besides the random Doncic/Porter clips here and there.

2017 is worlds better than 2016. If we put the players in predraft tiers it would look something like this:

Tier 1:
Fultz
Simmons

Tier 1/2:
Ball
Ingram
Jackson

Tier 2:
Fox
Tatum

Tier 2/3:
Isaac
Smith Jr.

Tier 3:
Brown
Monk
Ntilikina
Dunn
Bender
Murray
Hield

The guys with the slashes could be debated either way.

2017 looks like a repeat of 2016. I have a feeling we're in for a disappointment again.

In a year when there is a consensus #1 pick, the normal thing to do is to take that pick. I like Josh Jackson and see the potential, but at the same time I don't have a ton of confidence in Ainge's ability to draft. If Ainge takes Tatum at #3, I'll be pretty down on this move.

Anyone else see Boston moving up to 1? #3, Lakers-Kings pick, next year's Brooklyn, Boston 18, Crowder, Smart and IT for #1?

I'm saying he'll likely be better than both long-term. Fultz might be rookie of the Year. Jackson will still end up being the better player.

If its a weak draft class, doesn't it make sense to not want multiple draft picks from it? Maybe next year will be better.

An argument can be made for taking Jackson over Fultz. But if the Celtcs take Tatum at #3, they've clearly dropped a tier. I get some of the logic. Power wings are dominating the league. But passing on a guard whose floor is probably Damian Lillard just because you've already got a couple undersized guards would be a pretty shoddy decision. This is going to become obvious the first time IT tries to guard him.

I think the trade indicates Ainge views Jackson ahead of Fultz and views 1-2 more players on his level. This could be an interesting off-season for BOS
