Re: Free Agent Talk
Not a big fan of Randolph. You guys realize he was 19th in the NBA in USG this year with an awful 49.0% TS?

WIth Klay, Steph, and KD, you want role players who are ok with setting screens, playing defense, passing the ball, and maybe hitting a jump shot when left wide open. You don't want guys who soak up possessions with the ball in their hands, as Z-Bo has done his whole career. Give me someone like Nene instead.

But we would play him on the West role with Dray, Dre and possibly McCaw, we could use someone to soak up posessions on that lineup.

Any thoughts on Tiago Splitter replacing Zaza? Would Splitter come cheap?

I think he would come cheap. HIs injury history makes him unappealing. You can't expect him to play a full season.

Re: Free Agent Talk
I like the idea of bringing in Vince Carter.
Zach Randolph I would love off the bench as a primary scorer - since most teams are building themselves to stop our small ball type of play, having Z-Bo gives us an extra dimension and teams have to pick their poison between a small ball 4/5 who can switch or a bruiser who can handle Z-Bo.
I also think we pick up a youngish who may have been out the league for a year or two. Like a Perry Jones or Quincy Miller or something.

Been really unimpressed with PJ3's Dleague performances that i've caught the past few years. Don't mind bringing him into camp, but i don't expect much from him.

I was hoping Carter got bought out this season and we pick him up. Dude is going to be a 40yo wing in the NBA -- he's held up nicely but I feel he'd be more of a novelty at this point than help.
Is zbo UFA? If we sign zbo do we keep David West too?
I'm fine with McAdoo leaving.

Re: Free Agent Talk
Kyle Korver - hilarious getting a Cavs guy buy he is still an elite shooter. Even if he's 36 or whatever he can provide short bursts here and there to spread the floor.
Anthony Morrow - surprised he never got bigger minutes. Haven't watched him lately but is he still a solid shooter?

They're both comparable players aren't they? Both suspect on defense but dangerous for offense.
I would think Kyle could still get considerably more than the minimum.
Maybe he wants to ring-chase though. Would be a good replacement if Clark leaves.

Re: Free Agent Talk
Maybe James Johnson from Miami? He's put in the work on mediocre teams for a while. Can shoot outside a little (34% 3s), willing assist guy. As between Morrow and Korver, I'd take Morrow any day. Seems to me there is a difference between "suspect of defense" and "can't play defense".
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

James Johnson had a career year so he's not going to ring chase.

Re: Free Agent Talk
I think if we bring back ZaZa, West, Iguodala, and Livingston, we go young for the rest of roster spots. Use the tax payer MLE to sign young guys to 3-4 year minimums with low guarantees.
I'm thinking actual rotation players:
Curry/McCaw
Klay/Livingston
Durant/Iguodala
Draymond/
Zaza/West/Jones
You fill that out by buying a 2nd round pick and signing some guys with upside. This way you hopefully have 1 of them hit and have locked up in similar contract of Convington and is rotation player for real cheap. If someone gets hurt or need reinforcements, warriors hit buy out market after trade deadline.

That's pretty much how I see it as well. I do think they bring back Matt Barnes. Not because hes great or anything, but hes great injury protection. He stepped in for Durant and didn't mess up the Apple cart at all. With a full training camp, I believe he would be in the rotation for sure. He'd be cheap.

Re: Free Agent Talk
I wanted Omri Casspi, it was unfortunate he got hurt and then cut and couldn't play for a lot of the post ASB.
He probably will cost too much, but I could see Omri being better than Brandon Rush was 2 years ago.
