I'm starting to think Danny is going to overpay from our existing Roster plus the Lakers pick for Butler or George.

Crowder and Bradley or Crowder and Smart plus the Lakers/Sac pick for Butler or George.

We keep Jackson or Taytum and still have the Brooklyn pick next year. We announce the deal this week but don't make it official until after FA to maintain Max Capsapce.

Marginal upgrades arent going to get this team anywhere, they need a true franchise player like AD or Ainge has to face reality and blow up this tricked out treadmill team

Butler had top 10 impact on the court last year. Adding 2 all stars is far from a marginal upgrade.

Butler is NOT a top 10 player, add in his knees and his age and hes a hard pass. The Celtics wont win anything with Jimmy as their best player. If we were bringing butler in to be a second option to AD or some other star I'd be in favor.

But a team thats best players are Butler/Hayward/Thomas doesent even get us by Cleveland nevermind GS

You overrate the Cavs quite a bit. And yes Butler was top 10 last year entering his prime. He is not old.

So you would rather trade IT and Al and tank then? I'm good with competing and having two top 5 picks waiting.

See this is what pisses me off, you realize the odds are greater that we get ZERO top 5 picks in 2018 than us getting 2?

ITs so freaking hard to get the number 1 pick because you need to have a team do terrible THEN theres a 25% chance u get what u want. We beat the odds this year, Id bet money we dont pick higher then 3rd at the very best the next 2 years.

Instead of taking the consensus #1 we roll the dice with DAnny Ainges ability to find talent in the draft... A talent that hasnt produced an all star, never mind a franchise player, in 14 years.

The lakers aren't spending money. They're going to be awful. Nets are awful. Kings are so bad no one watches them.

Suns are going to be better with booker, and their pick
Magic will be better
Even the sixers have to be better
Name a worse team than the lakers nets and kings.

AD,KAT,Lebron,Kawai,Curry,Durant,Green,WEstbrook,Harden,Freak,Jokic,Kyrie,Wall

off the top I'd take all those players over Butler in a heartbeat, PG13, Zinger, Embiid and Simmons probably also.

Butler is not a top 10 player and he certainly wont put the C's over the cavs, you are vastly overrating Butlers potential impact

I love what Ainge did.

we basically can offer the max now, still gets to draft in the top 3 this year, better chance of having 2 tops pick next year or the potential to have a top pick in the 2019 draft.

No player that defends like Kyrie is top 10. KAT....not yet. Butler outperformed several players on your list. If you are rating them on hype...sure. I will stick with on court impact.

Butler over KAT? I'll take Kyrie in the playoffs and regular season 10 out of 10 times over Butler. Most of these guys are younger or significantly more talented than Butler.

Butler is what he is, a 2nd tier star on a 2nd tier playoff team. He doesent make the C's significantly better like the other players on that list does.

Might be an agree to disagree situation situation. I jst dont think Butler fits well or really makes the celtics that much better

What about if we trade away for a future pick Marcus Smart? We then have just about enough cap space to sign Gordon Hayward. If he says yes, after we sign him, it would then just work out financially to trade AB, Crowder, Dematrius Jackson and Mickey for Kevin Love. If we draft Josh Jackson, our team would then be:

IT/Rozier
Brown/Jackson
Hayward/Nader
Love/Yabusele
Horford/Zizic
+ 2nd rounders and free agents

I wonder, could this be potentially a scenario to look for?

How are the Magic getting better while the Lakers and Kings aren't?

Kings are young and have plenty of picks incoming before the '19 season. I doubt they're a complete bottom feeder two years from now.

Lakers will get better just by adding Ball and another year of experience for their young guys. Plus they have no motivation to tank anymore.

I like the way he's thinking, though. Just offer everyone not named IT and Horford and every future pick we own, please.

They're not getting Davis now but he is 100% their big target for the future.

You have to think Lebron is going to try and make his GM trade for PG-13.

Danny is the realest **** out there. Love the guy. He's swinging for the fences, but Demps ain't trading AD unless the ownership orders him to.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

Hope Danny can make him sign 1 + 1. If so, just add him, then Griffin or Millsap and see what can come out of it.

well this might make PG13 cheap enough to go for, offer up crowder or Bradley + Memphis/clipper pick, maybe a future Boston 1st.

basically anything but the 3 and the 2018 brooklyn/laker pick. The only way this is bad is if it forces the lakers to get him now

Fixed the quote for you.

Danny needs to get in on this. See if he can get George without giving up 18 BRK or the #3 pick. Lets see what happens. I don't think they have enough for Davis since they dealt Fultz but lets see.

I'd be fine with giving up our picks, Brown, Bradley, and Crowder if we can be left with this by this year's deadline:

IT
Smart
PG-13
Horford
AD

Title contenders. Awesome balance of offense and defense.
