http://www.barstoolsports.com/barstoolu/barstool-nba-two-round-mock-draft-we-have-a-possible-trade-for-no-1/

I'm not calling Barstool a credible news site, but their Boston bloggers are relatively tuned in. See below more signs Boston is taking Tatum at 3. Would be best case scenario for Suns, at least according to many "experts" who see Jackson as top 1-2 talent in the draft.

1. Philadelphia 76ers – Markelle Fultz (Washington)

It’s a perfect for the Sixers. While we are still waiting to hear the exact details of this rumored trade, I love it for the Sixers. They get the clear No. 1 prospect in this draft, especially with a couple of weak guard drafts coming up. They will have a core of Simmons-Embiid-Covington (a top-100 player)-Fultz. That’s not too shabby. Again, Fultz can play both on or off the ball and will step in and contribute right off the bat.

2. Los Angeles Lakers – Lonzo Ball (UCLA)

Take LaVar out of the equation here. He’s not part of Lonzo’s ability on the court and we’ve seen what he’s capable of. Sure, you can be worried about his ability to score in the midrange or his defense, but there’s no doubting he makes a team better from the point guard spot. Again, Magic has been pretty enamored with Lonzo for quite some time and it’s hard to imagine him passing on him at this spot.

3. Boston Celtics – Jayson Tatum (Duke)

Going to go Big J here for a second and have had more than one source tell me if Boston stays at No. 3 it will be Jayson Tatum and not Josh Jackson going. That’s the right decision. Tatum is easily the more rounded offensive player and is a stronger rebounder than people realize. Tatum can step in and help with scoring right off the bat as he can score at all three levels.

4. Phoenix Suns – Josh Jackson (Kansas)

The Suns have a couple of ball-dominant guards in Eric Bledsoe and Devin Booker. They need help on the wing and they’ll take Jackson over Isaac here. Personally I like Isaac a little bit better, but Jackson fits the Suns better due to his ability to move without the ball. After taking front court help last year, the Suns need to focus on the wing.

True. However, we could do that with every prospect.

Agreed. I'm not the biggest Jackson fan but I think he has a better chance of becoming a +Jason Richardson than he does a Terrence Williams.

Jackson biggest question isn't on the court issues, it's off the court issues .. he's a bad kid but he seems to make bad decisions.

His shooting can and will improve. His strength can and will improve. The question is, will his decision making improve now that he will have millions of dollars in his bank account? That's the scary part of this whole process

Well not with that attitude! :)

No doubt a difficult and creative sell that would have to absorb something in return as well as being surrounded with other pieces. But under the right circumstances, it's very doable. ***disclaimer, i do tend to be a bit of an optimist

With that said,, if i've learened anything in the few years i've been alive, its never say Never! ...it's just too damnn limiting.

I like the talent Jackson brings to the court but does he bring a bunch of other off the court that isn't worth it? That has to be answered

I think if you don't go Jackson and Ball is not there, it might be Fox.

Boston made the deal … for what? A cleaner shot at Josh Jackson or Jayson Tatum, two players who play the same position as last year’s first-rounder, Jaylen Brown, who was selected No. 3 overall? A chance to hoodwink Jackson-starved Sacramento into flipping the fifth and 10th pick for No. 3?

Is a blockbuster, player-heavy deal in the offing? As of now, league sources told The Vertical that isn’t the case
. Boston – everyone, really – would love to get its hands on Anthony Davis. But Davis is tied to a manageable contract through 2021, and the Pelicans appear committed to giving the Davis-DeMarcus Cousins pairing a full season together.

Jimmy Butler? Boston’s already overflowing chest of assets should have been enough for the Celtics to make a competitive offer. Paul George? With no guarantee of re-signing, any offer, Boston’s included, will be quarters on the dollar.

So what gives? Theories abound. Clearly, Ainge wasn’t as impressed with Fultz as others. But why? The “they have too many guards anyway” argument is foolish. If a franchise guard is available, you don’t punt because you like Terry Rozier’s upside. One GM hypothesized that Boston didn’t think a Fultz-Isaiah Thomas pairing would work. Fine. But if Fultz develops into a 10-time All-Star, fretting over backcourt chemistry will seem silly.

1- Fultz
2- Ball
3- Tatum
4- Jackson

That's a change

Yeah if the suns aren't comfortable with him off the court they shouldnt take him especially considering tatum, fox, and isaac are all supposedly GREAT dudes off the court.

Lol. Magic fans to our board is like us to Celts board. We feel the agony my friend.

A Boston poster made a profound post stating it's Tatum they will be picking because Ainge wouldn't take a chance on trading the pick for Ball or Jackson with the Lakers posssibly picking one of them. The Celts know for sure Tatum is not going to be picked.

Good point, however Ainge might be willing to take either, just not Ball.

History would say otherwise. If Jackson cant shoot versus the level of competition hes played against up till now odds are it wont improve against NBA level talent. Not impossible but unlikely. I have been a Tatum guy since pretty much the beginning. I really feel like he is being under valued overall.

yeah, I read that also. They made some good points on why it may be Tatum. I think Isaac is a dark horse for Bos, and, of course, you guys. Regardless, we both will be getting a great prospect in a few days.

our board is split, for the most part, on Isaac and DSJ. If you take Isaac, I hope we at least get DSJ.

I'm sure you will be able to get DSJ. What will you do with Payton?

They would probably trade him. I hope they'd keep him and see who wins out and let the other come off the bench. I'm one of the few that still believes in Payton. Can't quit on a point guard, 3 years in, when he's had 3 different coaches & systems. I'd prefer to give him Isaac, another running mate on the wing, and let our team fly. I like the youth on our squad and still believe in their potential.

He can shoot versus the level of competition he's played against.... He shot 38% from 3 on the season and like 50% from 3 over the last half of the season... It wasn't pretty but it did go in lol people are just afraid it wasn't real because his FT% sucked and his form isn't good looking.
