A call like that would last 4 minutes, not 4 hours.

Seriously. Anthony Davis is not happening. We just need to hope Danny doesn't get screwed in a trade for Butler or George or whatever he's trying to do right now.

Man, you need to chill.

The fact that the pick is not conveyed if it's lower than 5 is a clear sign that possibility of Lakers improving was considered. PG coming out with this statement today, even thought 3 days ago he was on the record saying that he'll play out his contract with the Pacers, is not something you can predict. Hence, my original post.
---------------------------

*Tin foil hat on*

Timing of this was planned by the Lakers to screw up Celtics.

My homertastic conspiracy theory:
PG wants a winning team (ie, not LA, but Boston).

A few pieces supporting this reasoning:
Who did George say he was looking forward to meeting at the AS game? Thomas.

Who did Zach Lowe say George would love to have come home and play in Indiana?
Celtics target Gordon Hayward.

Reputable reporter Bobby Marks, former front office guy, has gone out of his way to say he thinks a good Boston trade for George is Crowder/Rozier/Zeller, an unthinkable underpay.

End result? The current situation.

Celtics trading straight up for George would suck their assets dry. However, George that is an impending FA going to LA has little trade value, and suddenly Boston opens up as a possibility. A possibility that, because of the timing of Boston's cap space, isn't a FA option. Indiana is then forced to trade him for pennies on the dollar in order to not lose him for nothing, "to LA."

Counter point: LeBron and George are teaming up in LA in next summer, and zero things could get in the way of that.

Keep going, I'm almost there.

If LA gives up 2 and/or Ingram for George, good for them. Doesn't worry me. He'll ask for an early extension, too.

Anyway that probably bogus AD rumor is a Hall of Fame offer, a Godgrandfather offer. Smart, Jaylen, 3 (Jackson, Tatum?), BKN 18, LA/SAC pick... Plus they have their own 2018 pick, and they'd be taking back no big contracts?

I'm hoping Danny pulls out at the last minute to extract reasonable value (protection? Give me a break)

You want me to hype Tatum I can hype Tatum...

Dream is dropping to 5/10, getting him there, and a slider like DSJ at 10.

That's all I got, lol. Pretty sure there are a bunch of quotes about George and saying he wants to win. That ain't happening in LA unless James somehow goes there.

I can't find the post but someone just mentioned that the Sacto pick has protections on it. Can anyone verify? Even reverse protection doesn't help because Philly have no picks after 2019 of any value
