Boston doesn't have the assets to do that. If they did want Davis, giving the #1 pick to Philly is a move in the wrong direction.

Based on a 10 minute workout? The guy flew across the country at the last minute. I don't think him going through drills overrides an outstanding Freshman season and being the consensus #1 player in the draft.

No, I'm not basing it on this workout but others, exhibitions and his one year at Washington. His 3-pt shot isn't there yet. It's average. It could be jet lag in this vid. This guy may not be the sure fire All-Star. It depends on what's inside this guy. Also, it shows that the Sixers are making a more recent decision if their pick is Fultz per Woj. Is this a great draft? Probably not. Even if Fultz is a future star, we'll have to wait until he matures a bit. Kobe was the same way at 19, but you could tell his shot and form was solid. He jumped so high and quickly that his shot looked unstoppable. Fultz looks a skosh slow.

History does mean something. It has shown that the player thought to be the best player in a draft is normally an all star caliber player.

1998 Olowokandi not an all star
1999 Elton Brand Made it twice in 17 years
2000 Kenyon Martin Made it once in 15 years
2001 Kwame Brown not an all star
2005 Andrew Bogut not an all star
2006 Andrea Bargnani not an all star
2007 Greg Oden not an all star
2013 Anthony Bennett not an all star
2014 Andrew Wiggins Not an all star
2015 Karl Anthony Towns not an ll star (but probably will be)
2016 Ben Simmons not an all star

This means we had 8 All-Stars while Wiggins, KAT and Simmons may still be. The young guys take time.

Fultz and Jackson and even Tatum are can't misses for me. All three were dominant at the fiba level before entering college, im a sucker for that... mainly because they play comp that have unique chemistry. Danny should feel comfortable getting jackson or Tatum.

Really want him to chase Anthony Davis and pair him with zizic. Davis is the only player in the NBA I would legit offer ANYTHING for, leave the damn cupboard bare.

Since 1990, 62% of first picks have made at least one all Star team. And that's with including the last 3 years of Wiggins, Towns, and Simmons. It's very likely that two of those three will make it at some point. That would bring the percentage up to 70%.

Also, I have no idea why you listed Brand and Martin. They were both all star caliber players and made the team.

So basically the Celtics trade down their #1 for #3 to pick Josh Jackson but what if the Los Angeles Lakers pick him at #2?

Who would be the best fit for them now? Lonzo Ball? Jayson Tatum? Or Jonathan Isaac?

I would rather have Jonathan Isaac his defensive potential is great and he can play 3 & 4.

The game film shows he's not explosive. You don't need an individual workout to see that. I still don't see h hype with Fultz. I hope he proves me wrong because he's a Sixer now. Ainge is a horrible talent evaluator so him passing on Fultz gives me hope.

It is not known that the celtics traded down to get josh jackson. It could be they prefer ball plus the future picks they got over fultz. Maybe they have ball very close to fultz on their draft rankings. It's more likely they think/hope jackson falls to them at three I think.

Do you think it's possible Boston could sign Gordon Hayward and trade for PG13 (Crowder & #3) and Jimmy Butler (not sure what it'd take)? 1 year #ALLin
They'd obviously know PG13 and AB would walk at the end of the year but it could be with rings. The bench would be very strong going into next season. Also, they could/would have young bench pieces to step up (M. Smart/ Jaylen Brown) the following year and more picks to refill the cupboard.

What if the Sixers are actually secretly high on Ball?

The true smokescreen.

Good grief.

Wait the Lakers pick is protected? That would change everything.

Thess tweets fit with the only explanation that made sense for me.

So the question becomes, do you trust Ainge and the Celtics brass as talent evaluators over both Philly's group and the general consensus around the league?

I don't either.

Some times you get burnt when you try too hard.

I am sided with the people who felt really comfortable with going for the consensus #1 pick as his profile seems to fill a need.

Currently I have a really bad feeling about this and am afraid of the Celtics really regretting passing on Fultz. I would love to be proven wrong but I feel as if Ainge has reached too far this time.

Man that Fultz workout video with the 76ers looks brutal.

But he can't be THAT bad, considering all 30 teams rank him 1st....or this draft can't be THAT good, considering all 30 teams are ranking him 1st.

I applaud them for trading down, instead of picking a guy they aren't comfortable with because the "consensus" (whatever that even means, draft sites? Unnamed scouts?) says you should.

Just about all of his games are on youtube, hours upon hours of footage. Seems odd to judge him on just 7 minutes, especially considering the circumstances, being rushed to Philly because of the negotiations.
