Dreams about Jordan Bell setting a high screen for Giannis and rolling hard to the hoop with Khash (43%), Brogdon (40%), and Thon (38%) all spotted up for three.

Had it in my head that Isaac Hamilton was a junior. Like him at any rate.

DX has Anunoby going 21st overall to OKC. There's no way that I'd pass up on him at #17.

Would Giles be like a top 3 sort of talent without injuries?

I would think so, 3 knee injuries and he's still in the top half of the first round. Can't imagine how good he'd be with healthy legs.

Giles would be the unanimous #1 pick in almost any draft if he never had knee problems.

I don't think this is true. His overall skill level isn't there. Would he be out of our range? Absolutely. Unanimous number 1? Absolutely not.

Yeah I have a tough time seeing how he would be a unanimous #1 in any draft based on what little I've seen. I absolutely don't mind a boom/bust pick at #17 though

Yeah, highly doubtful.

Re: 2017 NBA DRAFT Part 3
Did you guys follow Giles and the scouting reports on him pre-injuries? The guy was definitely on pace to be the #1 pick this season and the Chris Webber and Kevin Garnett comparisons were everywhere.

I don't know about consensus #1, but he was certainly a Top-5 recruit coming out of HS.

Yea, but he did tear both ACLs. It happened, so what he could've been is irrelevant.

Big difference from "on pace to be the #1 pick" and "would be the unanimous #1 pick in almost any draft". It's an unknowable thing at any rate. Plenty of perfectly healthy guys don't live up to the pre-college hype.

I'll give you #1 pick THIS year. But you said almost every year. I just don't see it.

Re: 2017 NBA DRAFT Part 3
I can't make up my mind on Giles at all...one part of me says that knee surgery right before the season really set him back, which is the only reason he is remotely available at 17, making him potentially great value. The other part of me says what the **** are you thinking rolling the dice on a guy when you already have Parker with two ACLs, we are going to need to add knee specialists to our training staff.

Re: 2017 NBA DRAFT Part 3
I understand Giles would be a gamble, but is one I have absolutely no problem taking. If you have a shot & top 3-5 prospect @ 17 I feel like you go for it. If he's a bust it's unfortunate but most mid 1st round players amount to nothing. Not many have the chance to be all star caliber
