Jeff Teague

Post#1 » by Pacersike » Mon Jun 19, 2017 7:01 am

Do you want him back, do you expect him back now that the Pacers are trying to trade Laker boy?

I did want him back but what would be the point of bringing him back now? :(

Helps the team transition. Having a distributor like him on your team allows the young players on the team to develop better. His pick-and-roll ability is going to allow Turner to continue to develop there.

Of course, it all depends on the asking price. But it's not a bad idea for the Pacers to keep him around, I think.

not at Conley numbers but as I keep writing, I heard he was offering a home town discount. of course, everything is up in the air now until we see if there is a PG trade. the more top draft picks we acquire, the fewer years I'd want to sign Teague for.

Depends on what we get for PG, if we get a decent pick I would prefer to get a young PG of the future and let Teague walk. If not, I have no problem bringing him back to keep this team somewhat competitive next year.

Yes, I want him back but I doubt he comes back if PG13 is traded but I dont think he gets traded. I don't think we get up high enough to select anyone other than maybe Dennis Smith Jr.

Doyle isn't my favorite source and I don't know whether he was told they'd try Lance as the first unit point guard which means no Teague, or as his backup. We don't even know if this conversation was before or after the Woj bomb re PG. That said, if PG is traded for not much, which seems very possible, I can see letting Teague go and starting Lance and GRob in the backcourt. That leaves us short a wing though unless we bring CJ Miles back which I don't see if it is a rebuilding year. see the draft thread.

The pacers are not getting any "top picks" they are getting garbage and salary dumps. The only interesting offer Ive seen is Portland sending Harkless, Crabbe and their 3 picks 15,20, 26. Or Cleveland for Kevin Love and some 2022 pick then flipping love to some other team because Kevin Love is a pile of crap.

Spending money on a meh player like CJ Miles would be stupid beyond belief!

I'm and extremely unhappy with the way this has been handled the Pacers look like chumps. I've been a fan since the days they played in the old Pepsi Coliseum at the fairgrounds. This is a disgrace they may as well fold the franchise or move it to Seattle. The management has be utterly pathetic the 6-7 yrs. The way they handled Hibbert was disgraceful, that's what caused David West to walk. Trading off picks for guys like Scola, and drafting scrubs like Soloman Hill and Miles Plummlee. No creative thinking or risk taking.

I'm not longer fan of this team, or paul george he's punk and I wish him ill will.

Speaking of point guards, the answer might be Lance?

Hibbert sulked, stopped trying, and became garbage and the franchise backed him up until he had less than no value. Hibbert's issues are 100% his own and the only reason he was ever anything was due to the Pacers and the immense work they put into him.

West used that as another reason to justify leaving. He wanted to be on a top 3 team. He was walking anyways.

The way the team treated Hibbert was the problem. David West stated that part of the reason he left was because of the way they treated Hibbert. If they'd had enough of him he should have been traded in 2014-15, the year that PG had the broken leg. If he'd been moved prior to that season they might have gotten more than a worthless 2nd round pick.

They may as well fold the team now this organization is gutless.

They might as well give it to Lance, there's no reason to give teague 4yrs and $20 million a year to lead the team to 20 win season.

What did the team do to treat Hibbert poorly? Because Bird said some things that hurt his feelings when he was dogging it on the court? Hibbert sucking is partially on him for never adapting and partially on the league for adapting.

They had press conference right after missing the playoffs in 2015 in which they blamed hibbert for the bad season even though the team was injury riddled all season. You don't hold a presser running down your own players if you want to trade them. They should have traded him early in the season if they didn't like his attitude.

Count me in. I was expecting Lance would have a great focus for next season. Set him free, don't let him learn how to control himself.
