Flipping Bledsoe for Russell while taking Jackson at 4 would be a dream scenario.

If we could get another lotto pick for Bledsoe I'd trade that one for Russell. I for one am not particularly enamored by any player in the draft this year save for Fultz because they all have horrible shooting forms and/or defensive issues. But then again I'm not particularly well versed in draft knowledge.

They might do it but Deng needs to be attached with Russell.

And maybe another mid level contract...

Who knows if McDo has the same sentiment... but it is as likely as he deals #4 as he uses it. Would you say 30% chance is fair? May be its the giddy feeling before Christmas, but there sure seems to be a lot of legitimate trade chatter building up to Thurs. Some big names are moving around as the climate has changed into one that IF you want to compete NOW... you had better arm yourself to the teeth as the Warriors are going to trot out pretty much the same crew next year.

Yeah given the Warrior's roster it just seems to make little sense to grab a guy who is ~27 because all the Warriors are around that age. It looks like the Lakers are going to try to acquire Paul George outright this offseason. If they do, with Brook Lopez, this might actually be good for us since they're spending some of their younger assets which could diminish the likelihood they're a threat when our own window finally opens.

Looks like D'Lo won't be a Sun for the foreseeable future. The Nets have little talent after the Billy King era so they probably will want to invest their time and effort into D'Lo.

I think there is very little chance he trades the pick. Boston will likely trade theirs plus a future good pick and a couple players, one being a young prospect for him. Him and his agent will really push for that too since he probably doesn't want to go to a rebuilding team with a bunch of 20 year olds and 30 year olds.

If you want to call it for peanuts be my guest, however this moves clears the path to bring one or two all-stars to LA which means we will be contending for a playoff spot sooner rather than later as we have no more incentive to tank.

Any other team, I would say it's a bad move with the Warriors likely the favorite for another 2-3 seasons. But with LA, you guys can always attract stars so doing a quick rebuild is something possible only with the Lakers. Despite slowly building a half decent core with Clarkson, DLo and Randle, LA certainly isn't in the game of long rebuilds so this move makes sense. If the Cavs could build a 3-time Finals, 1 title team in 3 seasons with Lebron, if you guys could land Lebron, I don't see why you couldn't put together a similarly dangerous team.

That said, I definitely wouldn't do it this way without a huge LA market but this is not so different to what McD was trying to do when he first got here. Suck a couple of years and put yourself in a position to sign a star or have the assets to trade for a disgruntled star.

Crazy. Russel's a beast.

Would've loved to have Russel instead of this Bledsoe mess.
