If price is very aggressive, throw in Smart. If price is extremely high, you probably have to include Gerald Green.

Lol@you fools who still believe in the competence of the Knicks org.

Edug and Caveman told me there was no way they didn't move Melo last year. Sure thing guys. I only have one thing to say if you believe the Knicks have a semblance of competency:

BETTER FIND A CHURCH

Lol they are incompetent, and they did try to move Melo for nothing, but the guy refuses to waive his NTC. As for Porzingis - while Dolan is a fool, I think the backlash the Knicks would get would be way too much. Dolan is a coward.

OK. Then you will enjoy Kevin Love then for at least one of this years #3 or next years Brooklyn pick.

If you wouldn't trade the first pick in this draft for Porzingas, you shouldn't want to trade both the #3 and the LA/Sac pick, which is the equivalent. If you think Kristaps is worth that, ok. All NY players are overhyped though, even the ones that are really good, like this guy.

Phil's testing the waters, which is fine. He's doing it publicly and he's doing it wrong, because he's angered and alienated his best player, but he's doing it.

He's asking an astronomical price which he won't get. In the end he'll have sabotaged his own locker room, set himself up for future trouble and will likely end up right back where he started. Except now Porzingas is unsettled.

Phil Jackson is struggling as a GM.

It's unlikely to happen but that's the one club you never say never with. They exist as some sort of seventh state of matter stretched out infinitely thin across limbo: a grey ocean of incompetence.

Why do you think that's the only option?

The Celtics could trade for Butler or George by Thursday, pick up Hayward or Griffin in July, trade for Anthony Davis next year if New Orleans struggles and gets discouraged, keep and use the picks on Porter, Doncic, Ayton, or Bamba in 2018 and maybe add more among the 2019 prospects, trade for any star that comes on the market in the next year, or do 20 other things.

Anthony Davis is signed through 2021. You're out of your mind if you think you have enough assets to get him, or that the Pelicans would even consider trading him. You might as well include Durant, Westbrook, or Steph Curry, if you're gonna fantasize like that.

If we can pull this off without surrendering BK18, I'm all in on this.

What makes this more interesting is the Knicks reportedly would like to obtain Josh Jackson. Guess who is in the perfect position to draft him...

Agreed. Trading for porzingis is a move for both the present AND the future.

Lol. They asked Phoenix for Booker and the 4th pick.

Cs can actually match that

This is gonna blow up in Phil's face. He is a coach and that's all he is. Throw him in rank and file with all the other average to terrible GM's. He signed the corpses of Derrick Rose and Jokim Noah. Noah's got himself a healthy contract for a stiff. They're ruined.

You think so? There's a lot of people in the press out of their minds as well then.

It won't happen now. But if the Pelicans ever want to remake themselves, Boston certainly does have enough to bid for Davis. The Celtics do own more valuable future assets than any other team. Meanwhile New Orleans has no way to get better if Cousins/Davis fails. The Pels could remake themselves in one moment with a mega deal, and Boston could make it very tempting.

I'm not saying it will happen, just that it is plausible if the Pelicans implode.

The Knicks have already blown up in Phil's face and now he's trying to fix it. Melo doesn't want to bet there any more, Porzingis doesn't want to be there any more, and Noah is an overpaid stiff with nothing left in the tank.

Sure, Phil is asking for the moon (why negotiate against yourself) but he isn't going to get it. It's like Kings fans thinking they were going to get three firsts plus a star player or two for Boogie.

My offer is #3, Bradley and Crowder for Porzingis and #8. If he wants a future first, Phil can have the Memphis pick if he throws in Kyle O"Quinn or Willy Hernangomez.

Bradley, 3, 18 Celtics, 19 Mem, 19 Clippers seems really favorable to me. We would still have the BKN18, LAL/SAC/PHI pick and Brown.

I like this except with Smart (or Crowder) instead of Bradley. And I'm willing to include the LAL/Sac pick we just got to make up the difference.

Smart (Crowder), #3, LAL '18 & LAC '19.....and then sign Hawyard.

Thomas / Rozier
Bradley / Brown (Smart)
Hayward / Crowder (Brown)
Zinger / Yabuslele
Horford / Zizic

I think I just got wood. :o
