I'll take him. He's exactly what this team needs. On multiple levels.

Not unless we are playing 82 games on national TV or against the Celtics.

Yeah let's get a 31 year old point guard with attitude problems and ANOTHER player who can't shoot. Great

The attitude is what we need. His 'lesser' teammates (everyone not Wade and Butler) love him and respect the hell out of him. And everyone on our team is a 'lesser' teammate starving for direction, by the way. Big Baby recently said he'd run through a wall for Rondo as his point guard. He makes everyone better. He's a veteran leader, a coach on the floor who really knows the game, a true floor general who knows how to run an offense, even if the head coach doesn't. A stout defender. Someone who will get the most of whatever there is in Dre that hasn't been tapped into yet.

All of these things are more important than simply a guy who can shoot 3's. The problems on this team are deeper than that.

Another guard who can't shoot?

I'm so there. We all know how great those are in the modern NBA.

"a true floor general who knows how to run an offense, even if the head coach doesn't."

That's a pretty interesting way to spin "doesn't listen to his coaches".

Finally... something we can disagree upon. I usually have a a similar opinion with you, but I would not want Rondo anywhere near the Pistons. Another fool who can't hit free throws, nor become any shooting threat from beyond that distance. There are only a handful of guys on this team who keep me interested. I'm not sure I've ever disliked a roster as much as I do this one. Waiting for SVG era to be done with. If Paul George gets traded, it will be the only reason that Stan doesn't have the Pistons sitting at the bottom of the division in April 2018.

I never understand why people want to add the rondo's, Paytons, and Rubio's of the world to a offensively challenged team.

Rondo and Rubio make other guys better, take a look at their post all-star 3pt% by the way

Point guards who can't shoot are a problem if they are ball-dominant, chuckers, and unable to really run an offense/dish shots for everyone else as a true floor general.

Point guards like Rondo, on the other hand, just need some shooters and scorers around them.

you all realize that this isn't rondo of 8 or 9 years ago, and nobody is going to build an offense around him, right?

Would you rather have Rondo for one year or Reggie for another 3?

There's a reason Wade and Butler want Rondo out. And it's not because he's a good player.

Now-a-days you need 5 guys that can shoot if you want to match the Warriors. No thanks Rondo.
