Lol they are incompetent, and they did try to move Melo for nothing, but the guy refuses to waive his NTC. As for Porzingis - while Dolan is a fool, I think the backlash the Knicks would get would be way too much. Dolan is a coward.

It's unlikely to happen but that's the one club you never say never with. They exist as some sort of seventh state of matter stretched out infinitely thin across limbo: a grey ocean of incompetence.

I don't think he'll be traded, but the whole operation he's been running I think it's pettiness, not incompetence. I believe somebody upset Phil during his playing days and this is how he is getting revenge. If anybody was petty enough to do that, it'd be Phil.

The main reason why I include Bradley in the hypothetical deal (any trade really) is 'cos he's gonna get paid around $20+ after next season. Smart's probably in the $10-12 range. Crowder is cost-controlled for three more years I think. If we're signing Hayward then Thomas next offseason, total salary + tax might be too burdensome. Doc might also ask for Bradley (if it's a three-way with LAC). He used to coach AB, has admired the growth in his game, and would want him as replacement for Redick.

Thomas / Smart
Hayward / Rozier
Crowder / Brown
Zinger / vet
Horford / Zizic

I have few worries about a Noah dump being part of Jackson's envisaged deal, in that we have enough assets to pay somebody else to take him.

It would cost the C's a Brooklyn pick just to dump Noah. Back to focusing on PG13

Agree, but we can likely find a third team for him. SAC/LAL pick could be enough for that. Then we send #3, Crowder, 2018 BOS, 2019 LAC to NYK for Zingis. If we are able to sign Hayward, it would be worth it IMO.
