Hopefully this is a reality check for the Russell fans. All the agent talk. All the per36 talk. Dude had a 94 ORtg against Tier A teams in college. He was handed everything from day one yet he wasn't willing to put in the work. Brook Lopez is the best player in this deal even if he is an expiring contract. Lakers mean business and I love this move. You'll see.

Your dreams of developing youngsters into borderline starters that never win anything?

QFT.
All the "terrible trade, we got hosed" talk stems from people rating Russell waaaaaaaayyyyyy higher than the rest of the league.
Exactly! Magic is all about long term play to clear cap space and get as much as picks as possible. Dlo didnt fit that plan. Nobody was or is going to touch Deng and Maz garabge contracts unless we sweetened the deal with either Dlo Randle or Clarkson.

0. Your hypothetical relies on the Lakers making the playoffs.
The Clippers team could breakup this offseason and the Lakers could be better than them. Or clippers stay together, Lakers get Paul George and they can make the playoffs. It can easily be neither team or both teams.

Just shows how out of touch you are. LeBron is literally one of probably one when it comes to fitness and taking care of his body.
He may not be dunking from the free throw line at 33, but he will still be a top 5 player in this league.

Even in the old NBA you needed one to two good 3 point shooters. In a league that heavily leans towards having multiple good 3 point shooters we gave up our only one. Why not let Lonzo and Russell play together until at least the trade deadline to see how they fit alongside one another?
The two times Magic has made a trade, he's taken the lowball offer. I think we could have gotten a better pick for Lou Williams and we sure as hell could have gotten more for D'Lo.

Lol at everyone freaking out over this trade. We've had so many years of slow and steady Mitch that we've lost sight of what it looks like to have an active GM with a plan.
I'll admit I'm not high on Russell, but with Ball, Ingram, George, Randle someone had to go. I guess this is the cost for moving that horrible contract. Blame Mitch and Jimmy boy on this one.

If you're going to take my post out of context and make an idiotic statement at least make it funny.

PG takes us from 20 wins to 30.

Lol right. If you think we're winning with LeBron and George then get a clue. You think he really cares about winning a title in LA? He just wants to be in Hollywood for the twilight of his career with his circle jerk buddies.

Yes because we are going to play PG and LeBron, 2v5, for 48 minutes a game.
Get a clue man.

We don't need a wartime consigliere, Sonny. We're not contending for 3-5 years no matter what. No need to trade 21 year old assets for nothing.
