It doesn't look like DX is taking teams into much consideration where we are drafting. Once something happens everybody slides up or down together, so it's more like a big board. Don't think DX is linking players to teams.

Although, the Jazz have been linked to Tony Bradley on essentially every draft board I've seen, so there's probably something there.

Eh, it could be true, but I don't think DX mocked Bradley to Utah because of that connection. The players are moving in groups, so it's doesn't look like they're attaching them to a team but rather a ranking. Same with Lydon.

And for people who just don't get why I like this guy. He looks a lot like Nate McMillan to me.

I am not sure where you see McMillan in this kid. He is very rough around the edges. I don't see him holding up in the d-league not alone NBA. High dribble, bad balance after contact, slow on D. Reminds me of a taller Trey B. I would have to watch a lot more games with him to see what I thought his potential is but if we drafted him as is he wouldn't stick. The DX video does not do him justice.

If he was at a mid major he'd drop 18-24 PPG, 8 RPG, 8 APG, 2 STG etc. He's a young PG on a rather young team that got his team to the finals in Brasil. I like pro leagues, Brasil and Argentina included, because they are full of grown men.

De Paula has a lot of size and defensive capability. He also is proving he can make spot up 3s when left open. He's a developing play-maker as well. He's not John Wall. But he has a lot of tools that look like they translate. Kinda like Isaac, didn't make a ton of noise in college, but his NBA fit is really good.

Ferguson is another example of how hard it is for a young guy to make it in a grown man pro league. What De Paula did was impressive. I know he doesn't attack like Wall and get up like Westbrook. I just see a good role player. A defensive oriented back up PG that can hit shots and run an offense down the road.

I would have to see more than what I have of him to form a solid opinion. Your knowledge of foreign players out distance mine by a long shot. He looks extremely raw and way too much time to develop right now. Maybe pick and let him play and develop over seas a little longer?

He was off the boards and is finding his way back on and climbing. I kinda like where the G league is going. But a move to Europe would be okay too. Same with Gabriel Deck, sure he's limited athletically but as we move to position less basketball you gotta think 2 way G leaguer.

I threw up in my mouth when I read your message.

However, the Jazz had nice things to say about Bradley when he worked out, and he could possibly be a Favors replacement/backup center. They do need shooting, and Lydon probably fits that bill. So it is feasible that the Jazz draft these guys, but I would certainly prefer others.

It sure is feasible. I just don't like it... I don't like any of them really. I don't think Bradley is an NBA player at all. I am not in love with Lydon either - not at that position anyways.... pretty much the only one I like for the position is Morris and that's at 55... at 55 you have to be a special case of hopeless for me to not be OK with the pick. So yah... :D

Here's (probably) my final list of the top 3 draft targets for the Jazz (priority order) at each pick position.

Trade up:
Lauri Markkanen
Donovan Mitchell
(or someone that falls)

24:
Jawun Evans
Caleb Swanigan
Bam Adebayo
(or someone that drops)

30:
Frank Jackson
Derrick White
Jordan Bell
(or someone that drops)

42:
Josh Hart
Damyean Dotson
Jake Wiley
(or someone that drops)

55:
Cameron Oliver
LJ Peak
George De Paula
(or someone that drops)

I know some of you (stitches) will freak at my list at 24, but I've really fallen in love with Evans and Swanigan and would be ecstatic if we could get one or both of them on draft night. Mathias Lessort, Tony Bradley, Semi Ojeleye, Isaiah Hartenstein and Kyle Kuzma are also guys that really intrigue me, but I just didn't have room for them in the top 3 on the 24 and 30 pick lists. Davon Reed, Wesley Iwundu, Malcolm Hill, Tyler Dorsey, Frank Mason, Chance Comanche, Jonathan Motley and Alpha Kaba are also guys that really intrigue me at 42 and 55, but again, I just didn't have room for them in the top 3 at each of those picks.

Overall, there's a lot of great players in this draft that I'd be more than happy with if the Jazz decided to pick them. I think we'll get really good value at each of the picks.

Don't think the draft front has ever been this quiet. It feels like a year where we don't have any picks. The only Locke conspiracy we have is the mock draft he did. Guess it'll be fun to go in blind, but I am absolutely terrified at the same time. There's no opportunity for me to rationalize a pick that I hate beforehand.

Locke is even taking a vacation during the draft. LOL

The reason why the Bradley pick might have some traction is that he said on 1280thezone that there were a workout or two very close to the Rudy Gobert's workout and then out of nowhere he picked Bradley for the Jazz when IMO he should be nowhere near a first round pick... and then every single mock started mocking him to us. DX, Ford...

I don't think I'll ever like Bradley, but I'm coming around to White. I never watched him before, but he has what I like in a prospect. Good shot making ability off the dribble. He's not bad.

Yeah, White looks alright on highlights. I won't pretend I've watched his games, so I will trust other draftniks about him. Most like him(Schmitz, Vecenie, Givony)... His story is somewhat compelling too. Growing 4-5 inches since being recruited and turning himself into a successful player everywhere he goes.

The only problem I have Derrick White is that I just think Frank Jackson is the better prospect. There's a huge age difference. Frank turned 19 in May, White is already 23 years old. If you believe in your developmental staff you should draft Frank.

Good pod by Tony Jones, Kyle Goon, and Aaron Falk.

http://www.sltrib.com/sports/5424360-155/utah-jazz-podcast-what-is-happening

- On moving up into lottery: Only asset that gets you in the lottery is Hood, Exum and Favors will not. Favors could, but he's not healthy. If the Jazz move up, it would be later in the lottery and not likely in the top 10.

- On possible Hood extension: I've been told that Hood will be looking for $15-$18 M a year...So we're looking at 4 years, $76 M. He needs to be healthy. If he has a great year he could come back with a $100 M offer sheet. Because of that, both sides are treading on ice.

- Stash is a possibility at any of their picks. Hartenstein mentioned.

- Hearing that Tony Bradley had an impressive workout.

- The Jazz really, really, really like Donovan Mitchell.

- Jazz have to figure out PG position. They need to know have a PG by June 1st or know 100% that George Hill is coming back. They don't know that George Hill is coming back.

- Favors' camp assumes that he is on the trading block. Backup big is a need.

- Trailblazers really like Kuzma. Had a really good workout there. TJ thinks he has a promise in the second round before pick 30 (Hornets, Suns, Magic, Kings). His range is somewhere between 22-36.

- TJ thinks Frank is a definite fit with Utah. He has been talking with Frank's camp off an on for month, they want him to be in Utah. It's now a question of if the Jazz want him in Utah as well. Expects him to be ready for camp, not ready for summer league.

- Best case trade scenario that is realistic is....drumroll...Goran Dragic!

- Beverley is on the block, the Jazz could absorb him. TJ is very adamant that the Jazz need a PG before July 1.

- Iggy rumor is hogwash.

- TJ hearing that Hayward is genuinely torn and the odds are 50/50. PG situation has to be solidified.

Here is a kid that we should be talking more about in the 2nd rd. He is a little undersized for a pf 6'8 1/4" but he weighed in at a solid 239lbs and tested out great athletically. From a skill standpoint he is really good at both ends of floor hitting 38% of his 3's on 4.9 attempts a game so it wasn't a small sample size. Defensively he avearged 2.6 blocks a game each of the last 2 seasons and is a decent rebounder. In today's current environment of stretch 4's and switching everything he could really flourish.
