The Kings should seriously seriously attempt to trade up to the #6 so that they can get both of these guys. Heck, if Jackson goes 4 to the Suns, we take Fox at 5, we should seriously look into trading up to get Isaac. Two great scenarios, however, we need to trade our cap space to pick up a couple 1st round picks this year so that we can package them with the #10 and #34.

No way the Magic move down from 6 in that case. They're in a similar situation as the Kings: they need talent at nearly every position (with the only possible exception being PF). They aren't moving down to 10 to pick up a Collins or Markkanen (especially when they already have another mid-20s selection).

We have a greater chance at getting the 7th pick than the 6th as Minny is willing to trade it's pick .

I have always liked Paul Millsap but at his age and contract I have to say no thanks.

Something I would consider however is taking Ryan Anderson, Patrick Beverly, and Lou Williams from Rockets. I'd ask for their 2 second rounders this year and 2019 protected 1st. We'd take their $31.5 million in contracts this year so they can target Lowry, Millsap, etc. Only Anderson's contract is longer term and Beverly and Williams are cheap and potentially both expiring. I'd like Beverly as back up to Fox. I'd likely flip Williams to a contender for a pick.

A Suns fan had asked about #10 for Bledsoe. If Fox gone before 5 and options are one of the SFs at 5, yes I'd do Bledsoe for 10.

Really? He's nearly 4 years older than anyone in our core, only has 2 years of team control, and has knees of glass. That seems like a horrible guy to acquire for this team.

At this point I say no to both Milsap & Bledsoe . I say no for the true future of our organization.

Yes they would be solid for 2-3 years . After that I am not so sure .

We would be giving up to many great assets for some minimal short term success .

I want long term success .

Source tells LegionHoops.com that the Mavericks have spoken to the Minnesota Timberwolves about trading up to pick 7. Dallas is concerned that the guy they want, Frank Ntilikina will be selected by the Knicks at pick 8.

Minnesota willing to trade down?
As I said before Dallas is bringing over Ntilikina 's Euro coach to help coach the Mavs Summer League team. Interesting.

Man, DSJ must have some serious red flags. Talent wise in any other normal draft he would be top 5, but he could drop out of top 10.

If this happens and we take Fox at 5, Magic take someone other than Isaac at 6, like Monk, Mavs take Ntilikina at 7 and Knicks take DSJ, we seriously need to move up to 8 and take Isaac. Heck I'd even try to move up to 7 and take Isaac. But, again, we need to trade our cap space for some draft picks so that if a scenario like this plays out, we have the assets to package with the 10 to move up 2-3 spots.

Here's the link about Ntilikina's coach joining Dallas. Mark Cuban flew to Italy. Things seem serious.

http://www.scout.com/nba/mavericks/story/1786568-mavs-twolves-trade-talks-isaac-a-target-at-7

If Minnesota wants Collins then that means that:
a) They could be a good target for a trade up
b) Someone in the high ceiling tier outside of Collins/Markkanen would fall to the Kings at 10 (likely one of Ntilikina, Monk, or DSJ).

Would love to come out of this draft with Fox and any of those 3.

A bit off topic but a great read:
http://thecomeback.com/freezingcoldtakes/nba/1998-nba-draft-dallas-acquires-dirk-steve-nash-sportswriter-gives-f.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

1998 NBA Draft: Dallas acquires Dirk and Steve Nash, sportswriter gives them an “F”

Here are the details:

– The Mavs drafted Robert Traylor with the No. 6 pick
– The Bucks took Nowitzki at No. 9 and Pat Garrity at No. 19
– The Mavs traded Traylor to the Bucks for Nowitzki and Garrity
– The Mavs turned around and traded Garrity to Phoenix for Nash, a back-up point guard

Eddie Sefko’s review of Dallas’ draft performance:

“Dallas Mavericks: F
The Mavs had an infatuation with Dirk Nowitzki from the start, but they basically gave up the No. 6 pick and an almost-certain lottery pick next season to get Phoenix’s Steve Nash and the German big man. Europeans are such a risky bet, especially in the lottery. So many bust. So few bloom. And Nash is a gamble.”

Drafted a soon to be bust in Traylor and traded for a hall of famer and another soon to be bust in Garrity. Took that soon to be bust (Garrity) and traded it for another hall of famer.

Not bad!

After reading Thibs press conference comments I get the feeling Zach Collins could go to Minnestoa if they trade down to 9

He wants a defensive big to compliment KAT. Wants shot blocking, toughness, and shooting.

I remember it too, for the local UOP stud Michael Olowokandi went #1 and drifted off into the sunset.

Ya I don't see any of the top 6 dropping. The top 6 will go in the top 6 in whichever order. Celtics are taking Tatum or Jackson. Suns will take whoever Celtics didn't draft. Kings will take Fox and Orlando will take Isaac. If Suns take Fox, we take whoever Celtics didn't pick. None of these 6 guys are dropping.

Return to Sacramento Kings
