Very true but the question is, starting at #4, assuming it goes Fultz/Ball/Tatum;
How much does IND value Jackson/Fox/Smith/Issac/Monk/Markenan/etc.?
Not saying #4 is on the table but for argument's sake, some pick between 4-10 "could" be obtained by Pacers, do they like any of those 6 players and start the Turner/lotto pick rebuild next year? That's the million dollar question?
I think we'd value all of those guys (outside of maybe Markenan, idk about his fit with Turner) given the circumstances. If it's a 4-10 pick as the best asset in deal versus Randle, then it's a no-brainer.
Assuming the Suns were willing to put No. 4 on the table in a Love trade, I suspect that the Pacers are trying to leverage No. 2 out of the Lakers. The concern I have, again assuming these rumors are true, is what happens if everyone plays the waiting game and a player the Suns like falls to them because the Celtics select Tatum?
The PHO contingent puzzle me. On one hand, I've seen a few PHO posters poo-poo acquiring KLove yet then I see others, oh, we're interested in signing Paul Milsap to an albatross of a contract. And the only "need" I suppose PHO could address through the draft is the SF/wing position. So, Jackson/Tatum/Issac. They really don't need PG help. Chriss/Bender seem set at PF. And you got Chandler/Len at C. And SG is locked up by Booker. So in essence, your #4 pick isn't really coming in to play big minutes for the next 3-5 years cuz you're most likely having Warren in that spot holding it down after they pay him this summer.
So that's why I think PHO, by all accounts, just makes sense they'd be a partner with us when it comes to Love. It'd just be so much easier if Indy just did it straight up with us; Love + Frye for PG13 + Young. I'd be happy with that after it was all said and done. Personally, I think it's low value for Love but I think IND folk could say they're giving too much for just Love.
