What?

That 2014 roster was Melo, JR when he was on, and not much else, with our best young prospect being Shumpert, and clearly on a downward trend

Now we have KP and Willy (both of whom are nowhere near their primes), plus whoever we get from this draft to grow

We went from a 98 honda to like a 2010 honda

No. We went from a Honda to a bus pass like I said. We were supposed to get that new Benz like Phil promised. Even though we really wanted that Rolls Royce.

Okay, you've convinced me

A core of KP/Willy/8th pick (with the oldest being 22) is soooooo much worse for our future than Melo/JR/Chandler (with the youngest being 28). It's not like that core had already peaked at 54 wins and a 2nd round exit.

I disagree due to experience, developing greatness, and straight up Basketball Knowledge. If we can be patient with players to develop. I am okay with being patient with Phil as an executive. I believe in time he will get better as an executive as well as take us to a better place as a Franchise. I have seen much worse get a free pass for the Knicks. I endured E.Curry, Marbury, Jared Jeffries, Clarence Weatherspoon, Willie anderson, Howard Eisley, Hardaway, Mcgrady, and all kind of other nonsense. I haven't seen Phil do anything to that effect yet . As far as I see it he isn't taking Melo's selfish style of play and actually demanding more of him then scoring. Melo is sour because of that ... KP and his Brother are behaving like Spoiled kids not having their way. If you ask me Phil is holding the line. He is saying this is what our franchise is doing ...this is what we will continue to work for and if you can't get it then you can go with Melo. That is okay with me ( Sorry I am busy and trying to speed type this)

Phil has gotten worse as an exec.

Was just about to post this. Can anyone say TIMBER cause its about to go down. The Suns leaking this means they want him bad, and PJax wants Josh Jackson @ 4 which is why BJ Armstrong is trying to get the Celtics to pass on JJ @ 3, so he can land in NY @ 4 with a freshly resigned Derek Rose.

This team is so much better off than it was before Phil, even if Phil's version of the Knicks has its warts.

What team besides the Warriors/Cavs/Spurs doesnt have a ton of progress to make? Where is all the backlash against management from like.. 25 other teams in the league?

Forget the Twitter stuff for now. We're sitting here complaining about this roster in comparison to the 2014 Knicks? If you expected a Benz or a Rolls from a Honda in 3-4 seasons, then you expected Phil to turn water into wine. You expected him to perform magic. You expected too damn much.

The culture thing is one issue. The roster itself is another. This argument is dumb.

In this convo, that right there is irrelevant.
If all you have is personal insults instead of speaking on why Phil has sucked as an executive then there is no conversation to have with you, because right there you showed the real reason you defend Phil. You hate Melo.

Good day kid.

I don't think they hate him, I simply don't think they respect him. They know damn well Jeff was hired because he's a pushover and Phil could bully him into the triangle.

Phil fans are delusional. I mean hear what people says.
%90 percent of Knicks fans against Phil, %99 percent of Nba fans laughing at him. He did terrible job.

Counting Phil's titles wont change anything.
He is too old, senile. He sucks at his job. Ask anyone around the league, any fan.
Some losers here still defending Phil Jackson because they cant admit they were wrong about Phil Jackson.

Phil hasnt done a good job. However, the players many are quick here to defend are also a big part of the problem. Melo and Rose are both awful and KP is trending in a wayyy bad direction. Those were the three guys that took the most shots on offense last year. You win and lose with your shot takers.

Thank you. I've been saying that since Game 1. DJ Jazzy Jeff had this happen to him in Phoenix. Didn't take long for the locker room to turn on him.

He's all talk. Remember that garbage that he was going to depart from the triangle and mix in the best plays suited to each player. Well that was a DISASTER.

I really think Phil Jackson didn't want to fire Derek Fisher but Fisher's personal life was so problematic that MSG kind of forced his hand.

Kp doing fine. He wants Phil out and its really good sign. He wont be passive, he wont accept losing.

Phil signed noah rose melo, drafted kp.
He is responsible for this team. Coaching and system choices are wack.
His trades werent good, fighting with Kp and Melo should cost him the Knicks job.
