I was wondering the same thing. Why smoke screen it? It would make more sense to say they want Jackson so they can drive up the price for other teams since 'they wouldn't be getting their guy anymore'.

I can see Chicago preferring Tatum.

You want to get rid of Butler for Jackson, seems like the same problem.

I'm trading nothing!!!! Jackson or Tatum. We win either way. If Danny wants to move down, he will and he will get neither Jackson nor Tatum.

He can out smart himself.

It's possible the leaked GM story about Jackson being an Ainge guy was McDonough applying pressure to get a read on them.

Gambo is still talking Fox. If we have someone ready to take Bledsoe then possibly....but what pick?

For a few days

One of his "sources" said Fox was "vicious, going to be a star"

I think Gambo - yes he got last year right- but if he says enough names - it covers himself. So by saying Tatum, Jackson and Fox - he covers himself.

I talk to the Kings.

Tell them we have no use for Bledsoe because we are drafting Fox at #4. Offer them Bledsoe/Warren/Both Miami 1st for #5/WCS/Afflalo.

Take JJ at #4, take Fox at #5.

Fox/Ulis/Knight
Booker/Knight/Afflalo
Jackson/Dudley
Chriss/Bender
WCS/Chandler/BigSauce

Bledsoe/Buddy/Warren/Skal/Papagiannis

If Gambo is talking about Fox 24 hrs before the draft, I'm actually kinda nervous we'll draft him

Strong suspicion: I don't think Ainge can make a deal with McDonough, because he already has the #3 going in a package to Chicago for Butler. Jackson didn't go to Boston because it's already known he's going to end up in a Bulls uni.

Suns are going to end up taking Tatum over Fox and I'm going blaaah about it.

Since when did Fox get in the conversation?

Oh, so you're just talking Gambo. I'll be surprised if it's Fox. I guess considering all the Kentucky PGs, I shouldn't be THAT surprised, but no workout with him either. Or any pg for that matter. The only reason I think he would go Fox is he found a sure deal for Bledsoe for good return already.

I mean between the Isaac and Tatum workouts...twice...and the chance of Jackson being there, it would surprise me. I still go back to those tests they put the prospects through that none of these guys that didn't come in did.

All the guys being discussed are concensus 3 4 5 6 so any talk show has good odds.

Well if they did love Fox and really wanted to take him at 4 it would make sense to be really quiet about it so the Kings just assume he will be there at 5 and don't aggressively move up for him.

I've cooled on Fox and warmed on Tatum over the past few weeks (I've always liked Isaac and Jackson) but I'd be completely fine if they took him.

This reminds me of last year. About 48 hours before the draft started hearing that Boston would take Brown at #3. And they went with Brown.

Think the same thing is happening with Tatum. I feel like he is a better fit for the Celtics than Jackson. Have since before the lottery. They need to add scoring in their front court. He pairs nicely with Smart and Brown. Further, because of his advanced offense, he is a likely ROY candidate which increases his value as an asset.

Side note, crazy how this draft had the same top four order as last year after the trade. Lol.

I hope its not Fox. But Gambo is usually pretty good in this time frame. Maybe it means we are going to get Jackson AND Fox. Hey, it happened last year.

This is what Gambo was saying last year early on draft day.

Gambo gave a ton of information on Chriss today. Sounds like he is ultimately going to be the Suns pick if he is available. Gambo said he has it from a prominent NBA source that the Suns absolutely want Chriss. Said the Suns scouts think he is the biggest risk/reward player in the draft and will either be like Amare or Tyrus Thomas. He then went on to say another team told him that Chriss is more like McDyess and not Amare. I would not be surprised if it was Ainge that told him that. One other team told him they think Chriss has a good shot and is like a Marion type jumper.

Gambo also mentioned that he does not think the Suns will pick Dunn or Bender even if they are available and instead are focused on Jamal Murray, Hield, and Chriss. Starts at the 32:10 mark if anyone wants to listen. http://arizonasports.com/player/?a=322608

I don't know. I think last year was fairly clear cut. You kind of knew who teams wanted and their were clear tiers. But this year there is a huge tier after 1....of only 2 different positions.

I think everyone is maneuvering and they could be feeding Gambo what they want other people to pick up on and put out in the media....to make sure no one jumps ahead of us to take one of they guys we really want. Boston could trade their pick to anyone.

I mean if there was a REAL source, close enough to the circle, leaking real info and Gambo is spouting about it on the radio, that guy would lose his job immediately, or they'd make the circle smaller. The group who has the scout lists is very small he said (Watson, Sarver and McD). No one should know but them. I don't think one of them is leaking private information to Gambo. Whatever someone is telling Gambo is probably an educated guess. Maybe it's a scout who knows other scouts rankings.

It still would surprise me they'd pick a guy they didn't bring in. At least with Jackson they saw somewhat of a private workout in Sacramento. Didn't they just go to Fox's pro day or something?

I just looked on twitter and you're right. It's eerily similar. At the last minute the Celtics were leaning toward either Jaylen Brown or Kris Dunn. Dunn refused to workout for the Celtics and probably didn't want to get drafted by them because of all their guards.

Read on Twitter

Everyone was hyped about Dunn and they could have used him as a trade chip, but they kept Jaylen instead. Hopefully history repeats.

Gambo said today that it is down to 3 players. Jackson, Tatum and Fox.

Isaac is no longer in the conversation. The Suns would love to get a lower pick to draft him, but he said that at #4 he is not an option anymore.
