I believe a tank season is long overdue. We have Schroder as the only player I feel that is starter quality. I believe we can pick up a few stop gaps and just play out the season and build through the draft. If we can unload Baze and let THJ walk. We should try and get Jeff Green, Patrick Patterson, Serge Ibaka, and Maybe take a flyer on Larry Sanders, and a back up pg (bring Mack back).
Schroder
Marco Belinelli
Jeff Green
Patric Patterson
Serge Ibaka/ Sanders
perfect tank team....

What will our starting 5 be?
Myrak?!?
Where the hell have you been hiding, man?
I'm predicting:
Dennis
Marco
Taurean Prince
James Johnson
Motiejunas
Shelvin
Bembry
Omri Caspi
Justin Patton off the bench.
It's a nice mix of youth, vets. They'll compete, but still lose enough games to garner a lottery pick in 2018. Dennis and Taurean can grow together playing next to journeymen as we collect assets moving forward.

Really depends on what we do in the draft.

Re: What will our starting 5 be?
I dont want to tank..but I see your point. I think with the deep FA pool this year, we should try to do something now..Plus, we dont really know how the new GM is at assessing picks. I am assuming he knows since he worked for Golden State..but we cant be sure. I dont want to tank then get another Marvin and Sheldon Williams. Its just too risky for me..and its a long process of being bad. I dont want to go through the headache of being the laughingstock of the NBA again. We have only been really respected for like 2-3 years..I dont want to go back to the JR Rider days where you walk in a sports store in Atlanta and ask for the Hawks section, they reply.."we dont carry Hawks merchandise" then laugh at you. Plus I live in Chicago, I only get to watch nationally televised games. We tank and Ill barely see a game for years

I don't think Schlenk is going to hard tank. He'll likely draft young with BPA in mind (stated in interviews) and look for 2-3 mid FAs to come in and play / develop. Hawks will likely be a bottom 10 team, but I think Schlenk will add pieces asap to move the team back up in the standings

Re: What will our starting 5 be?
With a good free agent signing and a sign and trade, i think the Hawks can make it to #4 in the east in 2018
Signs Marreese Speights
Sign and trade Millsap for LMA
C: Speights
PF: LMA
SF: Prince
SG: Hardaway
PG: Dennis
Belinelli
Muscala
Collins
Wire tape has the Hawks going after Iguodala, if that is the case, then that just adds more vet presence with Speights and LMA (or Kevin Love)

Re: What will our starting 5 be?
I really hope John Collins doesn't start next season.
I want him learning the ropes, developing that jumper and improving his team defense. I wouldn't even consider adding him to the rotation until Nov 2018 with an additional year of prep time under his belt.
Get stronger, get better first. The team will wait.

I felt this is the reason we brought in Plumlee.

I've never seen Budz give playing time to a rookie
