I'm thinking we are officially out of the Hayward sweepstakes. I dont envision Riley spending all our cap on one player and Hayward is not Lebron

So youre saying Riley would be downer with signing same guys back and being lucky just to get the 8th seed in a season where we may have to give away our lottery pick??

Possibly. I can see him being loyal to a player like JJ. Waiters also seems to be a favorite of his and is still very young and will come at most likely a decent price for what he brings. The chemistry Waiters had with Dragic was priceless. 7-11 was a big thing. Our second half record was elite when everything was clicking. You now add Winslow with the 14th with a couple of other smart free agent signings and you have a team that's alot better then an 8th seed.

Guys remember we are a business, I fell that needs to be repeated, we are a business not a family. Whoever is trying to sell loyalty and culture comes off like a used car salesman or like someone trying to set you up with a girl that has “personally”.
Ironically If we would have tanked we would have the assets needed to make a power move. Thank goodness we are not the Knicks, it’s like Phil wants to get fired or something.

Let me stop you right there. Taking it personally? You quoted me talking about posts I made last off season, yet I have no **** idea who you are
You're determined to cry about Wade and also try to convince me a team that I know is bad is good because of some made up barometer of success. The team isn't good, and you'll see it if the FO is dumb enough to bring them back on long term contracts next season. This is like last season where I and others wanted to tank and many were so against it. Now they've seen the value a lottery pick would have had and are lamenting our "best record in the second half of the season".
Stop quoting me crying please.

Saudades.

Doesn't the cap going down also mean Hayward's max has a couple million shaved off?

I'm not going to argue with you if you think we are a good team. That's just...yeah no. I won't. Agree to disagree.
Best Net Rating team in the back half of the year last season
You are still so amazingly butthurt about Wade, it's time to get over it. The jury is out on that move....turns out the Heat were right, despite your crying
Best net rating in the back half of the season.
fool yourself as long as you want but we are a nothing team and need blowing up. PG13 on a year rental would be fun. Maybe he'd stay after that and if not we have the space to create at least what we could this season. If we can get PG13 in any way then Riles should do it. Remember Shaq, Remember the big 3 - We don't need another middle of the road season.

Good, glad to hear it. Phuck PG. Dude is NOT a Heat type player. He's selfish, throws his teammates under the bus, etc. He doesn't fit the "Heat culture" at all. Never liked him as a Pacer, and I wouldn't like him as a Heat either. Let him go rot in L.A. with their garbage roster.
Shaq was selfish, Lebron is selfish.
"Heat Culture" is just a made up tag.
We do what we must to win.
Last year's team isn't going to do that.

We're running the same treadmill he was supposedly gonna trap us in, and an extended treadmill if we're about to pay certain characters into the 2020s
It's time to forget about that argument and focus on what we're doing....people are still talking about Lebron coming back, c'mon man.
Exactly. People want to be mad about the truth that our team isn't good but I'm the butthurt one![]()
I didn't even mention how idiotic it was for us to not tank last year to "prove a point" but he's already crying about Wade, who no one mentioned. Only one butthurt is him.
Best net rating during the last half of the season. Lol Oh really? When are we putting up our banner?
You seem to be taking it rather personally. Let's just accept that you bad mouthed this franchise, and threw a tantrum when Wade left. Nearly everything you cried about has been completely invalidated. Yet here you, claiming the team with the best net rating and best record for 41 games last season, "isn't good".
41 games isn't a small sample, this team played damn good basketball last season and found something. Really evident if you watched them nightly
You called him/her the butthurt one and then you say they're taking it personally. You're a bit of a joke pal.

I don't understand this line of thinking.
Do you watch our games? Look at it however you want just about every indicator will show you Miami was an elite team in the 2nd half last year.

Best net rating in the back half of the season.Couldn't even beat 1 of 2 crap teams when it mattered to make the playoffs and ended up with pick 14.

Miami had the best record in the entire league last year the 2nd half of the season. Think it was a fluke look at their rating statistics, I bring them up because you can fake them.
Better than Golden State, better than Cleveland. Did we drop some tough ones without Dion towards the end? Sure
But whatever indicator you want to look at we were an elite team the 2nd half of the season. I reserve the right to call out posters who threw complete tantrums on these boards over what was shown to be a great personal move (not paying Wade)

I just want to say something for everyone who keeps recalling memories about our team last year, last year was last year. That doesn't mean we are going to take the same players and build upon what we did. Sometimes you need to strike when the Iron is hot and get someone(s) who can get you over the hump. And if that doesn't work out then at least you have one thing many teams won't in 2 years CAP SPACE. But if you fail to strike when the iron is hot and you take those same players and only get a 6-8 seed and lose in the 2nd round well now you have no CAP SPACE going forward with a bunch of Josh McRoberts.

I took note of our improvement in the seconnd half of the season too. But I believe our SRS was pretty weak compared to the first half. I'm not taking away what we've done, I believe we're at worst a 6th seed playoff team. But we aren't trending in the right direction. It happens though. Ebb and flow of the NBA.
I think the FO is holding out great hope for Justise to evolve into something much more than a role player that can play elite defense.

I think going back to last year we are at best a 6th seed possibly 5th seed. Not higher than that with everyone healthy. There is no way we overtake Washington last year even at full strength record wise. And even if we made it to the playoffs I feel depending upon positioning it may be tough to get past the first round but def not the 2nd.

Outside Cleveland I don't think we would have lost a 7 game series to anybody in the East. The disparity between the type of basketball we played the 2nd half and the rest of the East was extreme.
