WOW! Porizingis is getting traded according to Phil Jackson "Phil Jackson on Kristaps: "As much as we love this guy, we have to do what's best for the club.""

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXIII
Jackson also wants to get rid of Joakim Noah in the Porzingis trade, which would likely cut down on the willing trade partners.
However, the Wizards could offer Markieff Morris, Ian Mahinmi and a 2018 pick in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis & Joakim Noah.
Noah's deals is even worse than Mahinmi's by 3M but Wizards would still free up cap space because Morris cost about 9M more than Porzingis this year. Worth a call.

I'd add Oubre instead of Kieff and still do that deal with a smile. I'd even throw in another future first rounder.
I get the sense that Phil is holding out for a 2017 pick, though. And, other teams should be able to do better than Oubre, Mahinmi + future late round picks.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

Assume this doesn't help with our MLE situation...
The NBA notified teams in a memo Wednesday that the projected salary cap will come in at $99 million, about $2 million less than estimates in April. In addition, the luxury tax has been lowered from $121 million to a projection of $119 million.

From what I understand Phil wants a top 5 pick.

I think it means Bogey is as good as gone, because it doesn't make sense to max out Porter and give Bogey the MLE unless you're thinking Bogey is a full time shooting guard.
My hope is Waiters' market is more in the 7-10 million dollar range, rather than $15 mil+. If that's the case, I'd give him the MLE
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXIII
I would call the bucks and offer a future first and mahini for John Henson. Henson gives you just as much is younger and his contract goes down not up. Idk but I'd do that in a heart beat and I think the bucks are willing to move on from Henson they sour on him so much and he might just need a change of situation. Mahinmi would compliment Monroe pretty well! Make the call EG.
With the cap drop trading that pick for Tim hurts a bit more but it looks like we are going to drop bogz cap hold any day now I imagine.
I'm making a phone call to the kings about kofus and I'm still calling Philly about maybe taking mahinmi off our hands and buys some seconds off them.
I would out out feels about Zeller in Boston. But not sure I want to deal with Boston either.

Aldrige wants out!
Offer mahinmi and 2019 and 2021 for la
Or
Mahinmi and one of Kelly/Tomas and 2019 first.
Or
Mahinmi/ Kelly and Tomas no picks.

Wow... in 5+ years here, I don't think I've ever seen so many people so willing to toss away so many R1 draft picks! Mind-blowing....
Not to mention so much willingness to trade young players for old, including guys who are obviously in the last few years of their careers (Aldridge, Howard...).

You are nuts. Henson is a bad player. He will block some shots and make easy buckets. But RPM HATES him and has the past couple years. Low IQ and soft. Mahinmi might be limited, but his IQ is extremely high and he isn't soft.

I'd stay the hell away from Aldridge. I would pull my hair out after the 3rd time he shoots a post fadeaway on a 6'3 guy.

If there's ever a red flag, forcing yourself out of San Antonio has to be up there as a clear warning to stay away.

I think this team is done. We are cooked. We should be looking at trading Wall and Beal and starting over. Just like the butler, antoine jamison and gilbert years....this group will never win a title. We missed on too many draft picks...we blundered to many free agent signinings. Philly will be better than us soon...Boston could be a dynstasy...we are heading the wrong way. We peaked and we cannot get better. Blow it up and rebuild it the right way...with a real GM

Agreed. I just don't understand it. But to be fair, it's really only one or two guys who are making these insane offers.
Good grief! Two future 1sts for Aldridge?

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXIII
Porzingis is going to get traded to the Suns for Bledsoe + 4th pick + Chriss. These crappy offers are not going to do it. Might as well go all in for the Paul George rental (don't give up Otto).
Aldridge is too old for this core.

Our best players are 26, 23 and 23 and all 3 just had breakout seasons. How can you possibly say we have peaked?

Our reign as a successful tier 2 team in the East is only getting started.
