Here's some real good detailed highlights of DJ Wilson.
6'11 / 7'3" wingspan and he's an explosive athlete at the rim with a 37% 3pt shot.

Interesting to see DX and Chad Ford say that the Nets gave DJ Wilson a draft promise. I like Wilson a lot, but I don't think the Nets are giving prospect promises. If the Nets were unwilling to give Hami Diallo a promise, why give DJ Wilson one? Doesn't make sense to me. I don't think this front office is giving out promises to anyone.

Re: The 2017 NBA Draft Thread - Live from Barclays, 7PM EST (ESPN)
I prefer other bigs like Bam and Pasecniks over Wilson. A lot of the stuff that he did at college won't work in the league. The two biggest boxes that need to be checked on my list for a desired big are agility, then toughness. (Pasecniks doesn't provide elite agility but his combined height and mobility presents other problems for the defense.)
I want someone who can hedge, or even blow up picks. That's a major deterrent especially in today's league which utilizes PnR so often. It's also why someone like Noel is an underrated yet still dominant defender.
Wilson's ability to stay in front of college guards might have been ok (although it was a bit shaky IMO), but it won't not hold up in the league.

I love wilson i just dont think he is a center... and i dont really love the idea of taking a PF unless its a smallball 4 like semi who can switch all over. I wouldnt be upset with all with wilson but id much prefer one of the clear cut centers like Patton or pasecniks... or if we do go with a PF to play C id prefer motley who i think can play the 5 in the NBA.
but Wilson can play... he is kind of a highlight machine with personality too, fans would liek him

promises were made to be broken.... go get patton!!
never happen. marks is all about players and doing right by them. if they gave wilson a promise they will take wilson. maybe we get another pick somehow?
Sad we wont get Semi or Patton although im cool with the DJ pick. also sucks this kind of takes the drama out of watching

It's not confirmed we gave him a promise. We'll see if Chad Ford is credible.

Offensively that guy would fit in (Wilson). Defensively and on the glass though are concerns of mine.

I can see Sac but for a player that can play now... We don't have an expendable one and not sure I want RHJ involved for a prospect yet.... RHJ for an established player I can mull it over.
Charlotte? ehhhhh i doubt it.
Detroit? bananas, unless they need cap space?
Denver, nah...
Miami? mehhhh

Re: The 2017 NBA Draft Thread - Live from Barclays, 7PM EST (ESPN)
After watching some more Wilson breakdown I can get on board with him. I think we'd need an upgrade to RHJ though or SF to help out on rebounding with him at C.
Lin, Rus, Levert, RHJ, WIlson
I mean he's not ideal for C but we can run teams into the ground and switch on everything with that lineup. Our rebounding and rim protection would be an issue but I think he can contest shots enough as will RHJ and if we can just get the wings to chip in on the glass should be decent enough in that regard.
I mean we just went through a season with Lopez at C and RHJ at PF so how much worse can we be, right?
If we can package RHJ and 22 to land Patton I'd love it. Then look for a guy like Oliver (a high flying 3&D PF) in the 2nd by using #57 and Skil to move up
Lin, Russ, Levert, Oliver, Patton
Where do I sign?
My big board at #22 is
Patton
BAM
OG
Wilson
Anigbogu
Semi
Pasecniks
Giles
Lin, Rus, Levert, RHJ, WIlson
