Never have I been less enthused about a draft than this one, don't want any of the so-called centers....the KY center reminds me of a 90's PF, not overly long, no range at all....Giles has had multiple knee injuries, many on here see no current value with Parker (and I agree) and this guy is dealing with the same issues.

They could trade the pick for all I care, seems like they are just drafting for Oshkosh at this point.

I think if a team believes in BAM! they probably see him developing into a stretch big. His jumper really does look good.

not the quickest, but very pretty
A 19 year old Dwight with a jumper and can hit FT's at 75% likely in a year or 2... sign me up.

I also think drafting a big is kind of insurance on Jabari never being quite the same.

Brogdon, Middleton, Giannis, BAM, Thon is a nice starting five.

He was never a consensus top 10 pick.

Check out the Draft Express history. He was around 8th to begin the season.

ESPN 100 had him the 5th overall with a 96 grade, the same as Fultz, Ball, & Fox.

ESPN 100 doesn't mean anything with regards to the draft. Those are strictly college prospect rankings.

RE: DX. He was 9th on October 4th and 16th by November 30th. That's hardly consensus anything. Calling him "consensus top 10" is hyperbole.

I saw KY play a lot this past year and didn't see anything close to a mid range touch much less 3 point range, I don't know what he did in an empty gymn but just not exciting to me, but really none of these 5's are.

I liked the video of Bam hitting open 3s too ... and I know the Lakers want him for a month or so ...

#17 BAM for ... #27 Hartenstein and #28 Josh Hart/Derrick White/Frank Jackson

Actually Towns did shoot from outside at KY, not a ton, but had a nice looking shot....plus he is bigger than 6'9".

Eh, wouldn't mind it.

I'm not crazy about him, but moving up to get a guard does make a bit more sense than drafting another big.

Towns was also a great FT shooter, which means something.

He's an Excel client. That has made him a consideration.

Personally, I'd be fine with it. He's old, but had a big late growth spurt, and in his first crack at major NCAA ball, he was a major impact player. He can handle, set people up with it, is crafty around the basket, has some sneaky athleticism even if he's not explosive, he really has a pure and effortless shot, it's tough to block with that gangsta lean, has solid court vision, and while not being that quick he's very aware on defense which helps him make up for that and projects well in our help-oriented system. So I could see the substantive merits. He's a sleeper.

Also, I think a guy who would seem to freak a lot of people here out would be Justin Jackson, but he has a lot of attributes that add up to play in the NBA. He's long, he shot well on really high volume last year, he has good timing and a mid-range game, he plays very hard and consistently on both ends, he's heady, makes plays for himself and teammates in the flow of the offense usually, while he possesses some ability to create late. I don't think he's ever an all-star, but can be an asset as a starter in the league. Someone with that split wouldn't be a bad pick at 17. Although he's not among my very favorites. I would prefer Ntilikina (if he falls), Patton, Leaf, Mitchell (if he falls), F. Jackson, White; in that order. I'd put him with Bell, Adebayo, Giles, Allen, Wilson, and Hart; as the big gamble guys or reliable role players with moderate upside.

Mitchell would fit in so well with our core guys. His character and work ethic slotted in with Giannis, Brogs, and Thon is extremely exciting.

Still think Kidd is the guy who makes the pick....he has said all week he wants shooters, but he won't be drafting a 6'1" shooting guard....I am guessing Frank might be in their sites.

Mitchell is 6'3" with a 6'10" wingspan.
